Text Kritik
''Text+Kritik'' (stylized ''text+kritik'') is a quarterly German journal for literature, music, film, and cultural studies in which German-language writers have their works analysed and presented by fellow writers and experts in literary research and criticism. It was founded in 1963 by Heinz Ludwig Arnold who edited it from then until his death in 2011. At the time of the first edition, which appeared in 1963 and was dedicated to Günter Grass, the editorial team consisted of Lothar Baier, Gerd Hemmerich, Jochen Meyer, Wolf Wondratschek and Heinz Ludwig Arnold himself. Each edition is focused on a different theme, which usually means it deals with one specific German-language writer. Featured writers have been as varied as Theodor W. Adorno, Hannah Arendt, Arno Schmidt, Paul Celan, Daniel Kehlmann, Herta Müller, Yoko Tawada, Hubert Fichte, Emine Sevgi Özdamar, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Felicitas Hoppe and Rainald Goetz. Literary Theory
Literary theory is the systematic study of the nature of literature and of the methods for literary analysis. Friedrich Dürrenmatt
Friedrich Dürrenmatt (; 5 January 1921 – 14 December 1990) was a Swiss author and dramatist. He was a proponent of epic theatre whose plays reflected the recent experiences of World War II. The politically active author's work included avant-garde dramas, philosophical crime novels, and macabre satire. Dürrenmatt was a member of the Gruppe Olten, a group of left-wing Swiss writers who convened regularly at a restaurant in the city of Olten. Life Dürrenmatt was born in Konolfingen, canton of Bern, the son of a Protestant pastor. His grandfather, Ulrich Dürrenmatt, was a conservative politician. The family moved to Bern in 1935. Dürrenmatt began studies in philosophy, German philology, and German literature at the University of Zürich in 1941, but moved to the University of Bern after one semester where he also studied natural science. Michael Scheffel
Michael Scheffel (born 27 February 1958, Frankfurt) is a professor for the history of modern German literature and more generally of Literary sciences at Wuppertal University. He is also a co-editor of Text+Kritik. Life After successful completion of his school career in Frankfurt Scheffel studied German Literature and linguistics, Romance studies and Art history at Tübingen, Tours and Göttingen. Steffen Martus (born Karlsruhe, 1968) is a German literary scholar and Professor of Modern German Literature at Humboldt University in Berlin. Hugo Dittberner
Hugo Dittberner (born Gieboldehausen 16 November 1944) is a German writer. Early years Hugo Dittberner is the son of an accountant. Between 1956 and 1965 Dittberner attended a boarding school in Bad Nenndorf. After successfully completing his schooling he moved on to Göttingen University where he studied German literature and linguistics, history and philosophy, graduating in 1972. He taught briefly at Karlsruhe University before settling to the life of a freelance writer. Middle years Dittberner has produced a number of volumes of poetry along with numerous novels and short stories. His colloquial poetry style marked him as part of the "New Subjectivity" movement in the 1970s.
