Terry McDermott
Terence McDermott (born 8 December 1951) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Nicknamed "Terry Mac", he is best known as a member of the Liverpool team of the 1970s and early 1980s, where he won three European Cups and five First Division titles. Either side of his time at Anfield, he played for Newcastle United, with his second stint seeing him reunite with former Liverpool teammate Kevin Keegan. Internationally, he was capped 25 times for England, and was part of the UEFA Euro 1980 and the 1982 FIFA World Cup squads. McDermott has had an extensive coaching career, returning to Newcastle to be Keegan's assistant manager, and would be kept on following Kenny Dalglish's appointment as manager. He joined Celtic in 1999 to be John Barnes' assistant. Terry McDermott (1928 – 14 December 2018) was an Australian stage, radio and television actor known for his roles in the series ''Homicide'' and '' Bellbird''. Early life McDermott was born in Sydney, Australia and his family later moved to Adelaide. Career McDermott's began his career performing in the theatre, appearing in plays for the Adelaide Repertory Theatre and University Theatre Guild. In Sydney, McDermott was a regular in the ABC radio serial '' Blue Hills'', and also appeared in revues at Phillip Street Theatre. In 1963, McDermott founded Sydney's Q Theatre alongside fellow performers Doreen Warburton, Ben Gabriel, Edward Hepple, Robert McDarra and Walter Sullivan. Terrance Michael McDermott (born March 20, 1951) is an American former first baseman in Major League Baseball. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1st round of the 1969 MLB Draft and played in nine games for them during the 1972 baseball season. Terry McDermott is an American journalist who served as a national correspondent with the Los Angeles Times and is author of '' Perfect Soldiers: The 9/11 Hijackers, Who They Were, Why They Did It'', an investigative non-fiction book profiling the hijackers of the September 11 attacks in 2001 as well as the al-Qaeda leaders who planned and orchestrated the attacks. Terry McDermott (born 6 August 1977) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He has been part of a number of bands including Driveblind in the UK, and Lotus Crush in the US. In 2012, he came to prominence as the runner-up of the third season of the American version of '' The Voice''. Career McDermott became a singer in the Aberdeen-based Driveblind that was founded as a collaboration and two-piece singer-songwriter partnership between McDermott on vocals and Nick Tyler on lead guitar. After recording a number of songs together released on cassette, more members joined in, namely Cameron Taylor (rhythm guitar), Jack Morrice (bass guitar), Dave Nicholson (keyboards) and Dave McKay (drums).
