Terry Alexander (baseball)
Terry Alexander (born April 15, 1955 in Marietta, Georgia) is the current hitting coach of the Bristol Pirates and previously served as head coach of Jacksonville University's baseball team from 1991 to 2013. He was the school's most successful and longest-tenured head coach, compiling a record of 713-590-2 record in 22 seasons. He served as assistant coach of Jacksonville University from 1980 to 1990. In 2002, he was assistant coach for the USA national baseball team, which won Haarlem Baseball Week and won silver at the World University Baseball Championship. Terry Alexander (8 June 1944 – 9 June 2013) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the late 1960s. Alexander, who was originally from Thornbury, played as a ruckman at Preston and represented the Victorian Football Association in the 1966 Hobart Carnival. He came to Collingwood in 1967, who were coming off a one-point Grand Final loss the previous season. Terence Joseph Alexander (11 March 1923 – 28 May 2009) was an English film and television actor, best known for his role as Charlie Hungerford in the British TV drama '' Bergerac'', which ran for nine series on BBC1 between 1981 and 1991. Early life and career Alexander was born in London, the son of a doctor, and grew up in Yorkshire. He was educated at Ratcliffe College, Leicestershire, and Norwood College, Harrogate, and started acting in the theatre at the age of 16. During the Second World War he served in the British Army as a lieutenant with the 27th Lancers, and was seriously wounded when his armoured car was hit by artillery fire in Italy. In 1956, Alexander appeared on stage in ''Ring For Catty'' at the Lyric Theatre in London. He is probably best remembered as Charlie Hungerford from the detective series '' Bergerac'', though he was also very prominent in the 1967 BBC adaptation of ''The Forsyte Saga''. Terry Alexander (born March 23) is an American actor. He is best known for playing the role of John in George A. Romero's film ''Day of the Dead (1985 film), Day of the Dead'' (1985). He also played police commissioner Troy Nichols on the American Broadcasting Company, ABC soap opera ''One Life to Live'' (1990 to 1993). Early life Alexander was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He originally planned to become a dentist, but he eventually shifted his focus to acting. He attended Wayne State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater. Career In the 1960s, Alexander joined an African American theater group, earning fifteen dollars for each performance. He eventually began working in both theater and television.
