Tequila (Champs Song)
"Tequila" is a 1958 Latin-inspired surf music, surf instrumental song written by Danny Flores, Chuck Rio and recorded by American rock and roll band The Champs. "Tequila" became a No. 1 hit on both the Billboard Hot 100, pop and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, R&B charts at the time of its release and continues to be strongly referenced in pop culture to this day. In 1958, the song won a Grammy for Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance, Best Rhythm & Blues Performance at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards. The Champs
The Champs are an American rock and roll band, most famous for their Latin-tinged 1958 instrumental single "Tequila (The Champs song), Tequila". The group took their name from that of Gene Autry's horse, Champion, and was formed by recording studio, studio executives at Autry's Challenge Records (1950s), Challenge Records to record a A-side and B-side, B-side for the Dave Burgess (guitarist), Dave Burgess single (music), single "Train to Nowhere". Tequila (; ) is a liquor, distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant, primarily in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, Jalisco, Tequila northwest of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Guadalajara, and in the Jaliscan Highlands (''Los Altos (Jalisco), Los Altos de Jalisco'') of the central western Mexican state of Jalisco. Israel López Valdés (September 14, 1918 – March 22, 2008), better known as Cachao ( ), was a Cuban double bassist and composer. Cachao is widely known as the co-creator of the mambo (music), mambo and a master of the descarga (improvised jam sessions). Mambo (music)
Mambo is a genre of Cuban dance music pioneered by the Charanga (Cuba), charanga Arcaño y sus Maravillas in the late 1930s and later popularized in the big band style by Pérez Prado. It originated as a syncopated form of the danzón, known as danzón-mambo, with a final, improvised section, which incorporated the ''guajeos'' typical of son cubano (also known as ''montunos''). These ''guajeos'' became the essence of the genre when it was played by big bands, which did not perform the traditional sections of the danzón and instead leaned towards swing music, swing and jazz. Huelyn Duvall
Huelyn Wayne Duvall (August 18, 1939 – May 15, 2019) was an American rock and roll and rockabilly musician. Career Huelyn Duvall was born on August 18, 1939, in Garner, Texas, to William Daniel Duvall and Ila Lee Measures Duvall. Duvall is known for his 1950's recordings such as "Little Boy Blue", " Boom Boom Baby", "Three Months To Kill", "Pucker Paint", and "Double Talkin' Baby", among others. He has performed with Eddie Cochran, Johnny Horton, Bobby Darin, Dale Hawkins, The Champs, and others. "Little Boy Blue" charted on ''Billboard'' in 1958, and Eddie Cochran told him it was one of his favourite songs. Duvall recorded "Boom Boom Baby" two years prior to Billy "Crash" Craddock and his version of "Double Talkin' Baby" was sent to Gene Vincent as well as "Modern Romance" to Sanford Clark. Rockabilly

Dave Burgess (guitarist)
Dave Burgess (born December 3, 1934, Beverly Hills, California, United States) is an American guitar player, singer, songwriter, and band leader of The Champs. Biography Singing career In 1953, he recorded for Okeh Records, Okeh, as a singer and made his first records with no success. His first release was "Judalina" b/w "Don't Put A Dent In My Heart" (Okeh 4-7002). A second release was "Gratefully Yours" b/w "Too Late For Tears" (Okeh 4-7044). He subsequently recorded for different record labels, with many of his vocals appearing on the budget TOPS label. In 1957, he recorded for Challenge Records (1950s), Challenge as Dave Dupré. He finally found initial success as a songwriter with many songs including the 1957 hit I'm Available for Margie Rayburn. Dave also recorded his own version of "I'm Available" for Challenge (Challenge 1008).
