Tennis On TNT
''Tennis on TNT'' is a television program produced by the basic cable television network TNT that broadcasts the main professional tennis tournaments in the United States. From 2000- 2002, TNT alongside CNN Sports Illustrated (and CNNfn in 2002 due to the former shutting down operations earlier in the year) broadcast same day, weekday coverage (approximately 89 hours of programming with TNT covering about 61 hours in prime time) of Wimbledon, replacing sister network HBO. TNT was ultimately replaced by ESPN2 while NBC still handled the American broadcast television portion of Wimbledon coverage. ESPN would eventually gain exclusive rights to Wimbledon, starting with the 2012 tournament. Mary Carillo
Mary Carillo (born March 15, 1957) is an American sportscaster and former professional tennis player. She is an analyst for '' Tennis on NBC'' and a reporter for NBC Olympic broadcasts. Career Tennis Carillo played on the women's professional tennis circuit from 1977 to 1980. Her highest world rank was No. 33 in the Women's Tennis Association Rankings from January through March 1980. She then retired, citing knee injuries. Carillo never won a major singles title, but did win the 1977 French Open mixed-doubles title with John McEnroe. Carillo and McEnroe made it to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon before being defeated, and later that year Carillo was a women's doubles quarterfinalist at the US Open. CNN/SI Original Programming
CNN/Sports Illustrated (CNN/SI) was a 24-hour sports news network. It was created by Time Warner, merging together its CNN and '' Sports Illustrated'' brands and related resources. It was launched on December 12, 1996. Other news networks like ESPNews, provided 30-minute blocks of news and highlights in a similar fashion to CNN Headline News at the time, but CNN/SI was live daily from 7am to 2am. Their purpose was to provide the most comprehensive sports news service on television, bringing in-depth sports news from around the world, and integrating the Internet and television. TNT Sports (formerly known as Turner Sports and briefly as Warner Bros. Discovery Sports) is the division of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) that is responsible for sports broadcasts on its parent company's streaming service Max and on their various cable channels in the United States, including TBS, TNT, and TruTV. It also operates the online digital media outlets for the NCAA, NBA, PGA Tour, and PGA of America. TNT Sports also operates the sports news website Bleacher Report, as well as NBA TV on behalf of the NBA. It also owns a minority share in the MLB Network. Phil Jones (born 13 February 1965) is a sports reporter and presenter, known for his work with BBC Sport and CNN. He is a university lecturer at University Academy 92 in Greater Manchester, covering journalism and media. Jim Huber
Jim Huber (August 28, 1944 – January 2, 2012) was an American sports commentator, writer, and essayist. He worked as a sports anchor for the former CNN Sports Illustrated, before joining Turner Sports in 2000. Huber was raised in Ocala, Florida. He attended Presbyterian College, but graduated from Central Florida. He began his career in sports journalism as a sportswriter for the ''Miami News'' and ''The Atlanta Journal''. He joined WXIA in Atlanta, before moving to a relatively new cable news network called CNN. Huber was also Public Relations Director for the Atlanta Flames from 1972 until 1975.
