Tenchi Wo Kurau
is a Japanese manga series written by Hiroshi Motomiya. It is a fictionalized retelling of China's Three Kingdoms period with fantasy elements. Plot Liu Bei is a descendant of Liu Sheng, prince Jing of Zhongshan of the Han dynasty. Cao Cao is the adopted grandchild of Cao Teng, a eunuch in the palace. Sun Jian is the governor of Jiangdong. The three show their marvelous leading-role to divide China to three states: Shu, Wei and Wu. A significant difference is the use of fantasy elements; for example, many villains in the beginning are monsters as opposed to humans. Liu Bei meets a beautiful giant heavenly being in heaven, and she gives him the power to conquer the country. He meets and swears to be brothers with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Hiroshi Motomiya
is a Japanese manga artist from Chiba Prefecture. His works include '' Tenchi wo Kurau'' (1983–1984) and '' Salary Man Kintaro'' (1994–2002). Career Motomiya's ''Ore no Sora'' ran in Shueisha's ''Weekly Playboy'' from 1975–1978. It has spawned several sequel series and adaptations. He serialized ''Otokogi'' in Shogakukan's ''Big Comic'' from 1979 to 1980. It also spawned several sequel manga and adaptations. Motomiya serialized ''Takeki Ōgon no Kuni'' in Shueisha's ''Business Jump'' from 1990 to 1992. It has spawned several sequels, each following a different figure from Japanese history. Wei () was one of the major Dynasties in Chinese history, dynastic states in China during the Three Kingdoms period. The state was established in 220 by Cao Pi based upon the foundations laid by his father Cao Cao during the end of the Han dynasty. Its capital was initially located at Xuchang, and was later moved to Luoyang. ''Destiny of an Emperor'', known in Japan as is a tactical role-playing video game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is based on the '' Tenchi wo Kurau'' manga by Hiroshi Motomiya. It was originally released in Japan in 1989, with an English language localization released for the North American market in 1990. Story Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, and Guan Yu form a small militia to defend their village from Yellow Turban rebels, followers of the sorcerer Zhang Jiao. Liu Bei gathers peasants and farmers from nearby villages and camps, eventually defeating Zhang Jiao and his people. Tao Qian, the governor of Xu Province, falls ill and requests that Liu Bei assume his position. Liu Bei hesitantly agrees, thus beginning the events depicted in the novel, albeit with significant alterations. Guan Yu (; ), courtesy name Yunchang, was a Chinese military general serving under the warlord Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. Along with Zhang Fei, he shared a brotherly relationship with Liu Bei and accompanied him on most of his early exploits.
