Telêmaco Borba is a municipality in the state of Paraná in the Southern Region of Brazil. Telêmaco Borba is known as the "capital of paper" (Capital do Papel) and "capital of wood" (Capital da Madeira) due to the importance of paper and wood production to the local economy, with reforestation for growing pine and eucalyptus that reaches 90% of the agricultural area of the municipality. City Telêmaco Borba is the second largest city in Campos Gerais, it had a population of 79,792 in 2020, according to the estimate. ''Telemaco, ossia L'isola di Circe'' is a 1718 opera by Alessandro Scarlatti to a libretto by Carlo Sigismondo Capece (sometimes spelled "Capeci"), court poet to Queen Maria Casimira of Poland, living in exile in Rome, for the Teatro Capranica in Rome, where it was premiered during the carnival season. The opera was revived in 2005 by the Schwetzingen Festival and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
