Tejeda is a village and a municipality in the mountainous central part of the island of Gran Canaria in the province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Location The village of Tejeda is situated north-west of the Pico de las Nieves and south-west of the island capital Las Palmas. Geography The municipality's area is , spreading near the centre of the island, on the latter's west side. The south-eastern part of its territory includes the second highest point of Gran Canaria island, ''Pico de las Nieves'' ("Snows Peak") - . Other remarkable summits in the municipality are ''Roque Nublo'' ("Cloud Rock") and ''Roque Bentayga'' ("Bentayga Rock") with its ritual place (''almogarén'') and other features. Close by are the '' cuevas del Rey'' ("the King's caves", 1 km to the west of Rock Bentayga), an antique cave house village with granaries; and 2 km further west the antique cave house village of ''Acusa Seca''.

Camarón De Tejeda
Camarón de Tejeda is a town in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. It is most famous for the 1863 Battle of Camarón at the town's Hacienda Camarón. In the 2005 INEGI Census, Camarón de Tejeda reported a population of 2,019, with 5,660 in the surrounding municipality. The area is essentially rural with a population density of 32 people/km2. The town is named for the large number of shrimp (''camarón'' in Spanish) found in a small river in the area. History Camarón was an ancient Totonac town called Temaxcal. At the town's hacienda, a Mexican Army of more than 3000 triumphed over 65 troops of the French Foreign Legion in the Battle of Camarón on 30 April 1863. The Sierra de Tejeda is a mountain range in the Penibaetic System of mountains between the provinces of Málaga and Granada in Spain. Together with the Sierra de Almijara to the east and the Sierra de Alhama to the west it constitutes a limestone massif that acts as a physical border between the two provinces, separating the Axarquía from the depression of Granada. Yeltsin Ignacio Tejeda Valverde (; born 17 March 1992) is a Costa Rican professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Liga FPD club Herediano, which he captains, and the Costa Rica national team. Sixto Adalberto Tejeda Olivares (28 March 1883 – 8 September 1960) was a Mexican politician, who served two terms (1920–1924 and 1928–1932) as Governor of Veracruz. Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada y Corral (; 24 April 1823 – 21 April 1889) was a Mexican liberal politician and jurist who served as the 31st president of Mexico from 1872 to 1876. A successor to Benito Juárez, who died in office in July 1872, Lerdo de Tejada was elected to his own presidential term in November 1872. Previously, he served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
