Tegs SK (ice Hockey)
The ice hockey section of Umeå-based Swedish sports club Tegs SK currently () plays in Division 1, the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden. The club had its greatest success in 1967 when it managed promotion to the previous Division 1 which was at the time the top-tier hockey league in Sweden. Their time in the top flight was short-lived however, as they were relegated again after the 1967–68 season. More recently, the club played two seasons (2003–2005) in Sweden's second-tier Allsvenskan before being relegated back down to Division 1 in its current format as Sweden's third-tier league. Hockeyettan operates a system of promotion and relegation with HockeyAllsvenskan and Division 2. T3 Center
Winpos Arena is an indoor arena in Umeå, Sweden. It is the home arena of the IF Björklöven and Tegs SK ice hockey teams. Its current capacity is 5,400 spectators. The arena was first opened on 17 December 1963 as ''Umeå ishall'' and rebuilt as ''Umeå Arena'' in 2001, which was the name until 2005. On 1 October 2008, the name was reverted to Umeå Arena after a new sponsor deal. On 17 September 2013, the arena was renamed ''T3 Center'' after the Swedish telecommunication company T3 bought the naming rights for at least the following five seasons (through the 2017–18 season). Tegs SK is a Swedish football club located in Umeå. The club was founded in 1898. Background Tegs SK is a sports club that was founded in 1898. The club has specialised in ice-hockey, football and orienteering. In 1987 the club's football section was merged with the football section of Sandåkerns SK to become Umeå FC. Ice hockey in Sweden has a history going back to at least 1912 and is one of the country's most popular sports. The sport was first organized in the country by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF), which was a member of the IIHF in 1912. The ice hockey department of the SvFF eventually split off to become the Swedish Ice Hockey Association (SIHA) which today is still responsible for organizing Sweden's domestic leagues and its participation in tournaments internationally. HockeyAllsvenskan (previously Allsvenskan and SuperAllsvenskan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system (after the SHL). Since the 2009–10 season, the league consists of fourteen teams. IF Björklöven
IF Björklöven (often simply referred to as Björklöven or Löven) is a Swedish professional ice hockey club in Umeå, Västerbotten, in northern Sweden. The club is currently playing in the second-tier league HockeyAllsvenskan as of the 2014–15 season, but has played 15 seasons in the top Swedish league Elitserien (1976–77, 1978–79 to 1988–89, 1993–94, 1998–99 and 2000–01, becoming national champions in 1987).
