Taytay, Palawan
Taytay, officially the Municipality of Taytay ( ), is a municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 83,357 people. Since 2002, its Cathedral of St. Joseph the Worker is the episcopal see of the pre-diocesan missionary Apostolic Vicariate of Taytay. Taytay is from Puerto Princesa. History In the 1200s, the Chinese recorded that the nation Sandao once ruled over Palawan. Eventually, before the arrival of the Spanish, the Kingdom of Taytay came to be and was ruled by a monarch noted as being followed everywhere at any given time by ten scribes. The crew of Ferdinand Magellan held the King of Taytay and his consort hostage for ransom after escaping the Battle of Mactan where Magellan was slain. Cesar Lim Rodriguez Airport (; ; ), commonly known as Taytay Airport, is an airport serving the general area of Taytay, located in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. The facility was named after Taytay native Cesar Lim Rodriguez, a former judge who donated part of his property for the airport. The airport is owned by the province of Palawan. Recent interest in improving the infrastructure in this airport is due to its strategic location in the northern part of the Palawan mainland: the renowned beach resorts of the area (including El Nido and Apulit Island) and the historic town of Taytay are only 30 to 40 kilometers by road from the airport. In comparison, the only other airport capable of handling large aircraft is located in the provincial capital of Puerto Princesa, approximately 230 kilometers to the south. Taytay, officially the Municipality of Taytay (; ), is a municipality of the Philippines, municipality in the Philippine Province, province of Rizal (province), Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 386,451 people. It is the List of cities and municipalities in the Philippines, 2nd most populous municipality in the country, after Rodriguez, Rizal. It is also known as the Garments Capital of the Philippines. Greatest Hits Radio Tayside & Fife (formerly Tay AM and Tay 2) is an Independent Local Radio station based in Dundee, Scotland, owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Greatest Hits Radio network. It is broadcast in Dundee, Perth and Tayside. As of December 2023, the station has a weekly audience of 35,000 listeners, according to RAJAR. History Radio Tay commenced broadcasting on 17 October 1980, in Dundee and 14 November 1980 in Perth with Gerry Quinn presenting the first show from the studios.
