Taymir Burnet
Taymir Burnet (born 1 October 1992) is a Dutch sprinter. He earned two bronze medals as part of Dutch men's 4 × 100 and 4 × 400 metres relays. Burnet represented Netherlands at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, competing in the 200 metres. He won one Dutch national title. 4 × 400 Metres Relay
The 4 × 400 metres relay or long relay is an athletics track event in which teams consist of four runners who each complete 400 metres or one lap. It is traditionally the final event of a track meet. At top class events, the first leg and the first bend of the second leg are run in lanes. Start lines are thus staggered over a greater distance than in an individual 400 metres race; the runners then typically move to the inside of the track. The slightly longer 4 × 440 yards relay was a formerly run British and American event, until metrication was completed in the 1970s. 2019 World Athletics Championships – Men's 200 Metres
The men's 200 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha from 29 September to 1 October 2019. Summary Out of the blocks in the final, Adam Gemili took a slight lead through the turn with Andre De Grasse then Noah Lyles giving up as much as a meter. Coming off the turn, Lyles accelerated past Gemili. Once Lyles hit his top end speed, there was no catching him. Behind him, Álex Quiñónez was gaining on De Grasse and both were edging closer to Gemili. 20 metres out, both went by. Lyles won by 2 metres, De Grasse held off Quiñónez for silver. Lyles' victory capped an evening of 3 men's gold medals for USA also including Sam Kendricks in the pole vault and Donavan Brazier in the 800 metres. Summary The semi-finals were dominated by world leader Christian Coleman, who was allowed to compete despite missing three doping tests in the year due to a technicality, and blasted a 9.88 while no other qualifiers broke 10. The last time qualifier, Filippo Tortu, made the final by .001, running 10.101 over Tyquendo Tracey's 10.102, while Aaron Brown got in by placing second behind Coleman in heat 1 with 10.12. In the final, defending champion Justin Gatlin got a good start to gain a step on the field, except Coleman got a better start, gaining that step on Gatlin. The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships () was the seventeenth edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), since renamed World Athletics. Summary As the final was billed as Usain Bolt's final race, many eyes were on the Jamaican team, which put their hurdle gold medalist Omar McLeod on leadoff. Their main challenger was expected to be USA which put their 2015 anchor, Mike Rodgers on leadoff, and scheduled the fastest starter in the championships, Christian Coleman to run against Bolt on anchor. Earlier in the day, Bolt did anchor the team to qualify, minus McLeod. Out of the blocks, USA and Jamaica were out about even, making up the stagger on Stuart Dutamby for France to their outside. Great Britain with Chijindu Ujah and on the far outside, Shuhei Tada for Japan were also out with them.
