''Tarzan and the Huntress'' is a 1947 American adventure film starring Johnny Weissmuller in his eleventh outing as Tarzan. Brenda Joyce makes the third of five appearances as Jane and Johnny Sheffield marks his eighth and final appearance as Boy. Patricia Morison and Barton MacLane co-star. The film was produced by Sol Lesser and Kurt Neumann, written by Jerry Gruskin and Rowland Leigh (based on characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs) and directed by Kurt Neumann. It was released on April 5, 1947. Rowland Leigh
Rowland Leigh (1902 – 1963) was an aristocratic Anglo-American lyricist, screenwriter, and librettist, who worked with many famous actors and musicians during his career on Broadway and in Hollywood. Family His mother, Hon Mrs Leigh, was the youngest daughter of General William Washington Gordon and he was in remainder to the peerage title of Baron Leigh, through his father the Hon Rowland Leigh (1859–1943). Charles Silas Richard Trowbridge (January 10, 1882 – October 30, 1967) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 230 films from 1915 to 1958 principally playing patrician authority figures. Biography Trowbridge was born in Veracruz, Mexico, where his father served in the diplomatic corps of the United States and his grandfather was the American consul-general. John Warburton (June 18, 1903 – October 27, 1981) was a British actor who appeared in numerous Hollywood films in the 1930s to 1960s. Biography Born in Drogheda, Ireland, Warburton studied for the ministry at Oxford University and served in the British military beginning in 1916.
