Tanzania
Tanzania, officially the United Republic of Tanzania, is a country in East Africa within the African Great Lakes region. It is bordered by Uganda to the northwest; Kenya to the northeast; the Indian Ocean to the east; Mozambique and Malawi to the south; Zambia to the southwest; and Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. ''Tanzania'' is a genus of Salticidae, jumping spiders that was first described by A. Ö. Koçak & M. Kemal in 2008. They are very small spiders, with body lengths ranging from . Both sexes look alike, but the females are sometimes darker. It is related to the ''Euophrys'' and ''Talavera (genus), Talavera''. Three new species discovered in Tanzania by Wanda Wesołowska, Wesolowska and Russell-Smith in 2000, and given the genus name ''Lilliput'' (''L. mkomazienis'', ''L. minutus'' and ''L. pusillus'') are now included in the genus ''Tanzania''. Mainland Tanzania
Mainland Tanzania refers to the part of Tanzania on the continent of Africa; excluding the islands of Zanzibar. It corresponds with the area of the former country of Tanganyika. 26 of Tanzania's 31 regions are located on the mainland. Geography Northeast Tanzania exhibits a mountainous terrain and includes Mount Meru, an active volcano, Mount Kilimanjaro, a dormant volcano, and the Usambara and Pare mountain ranges. Kilimanjaro attracts thousands of tourists each year. West of those mountains is the Gregory Rift, which is the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley. Tanzanian Sign Languages
Around seven Tanzanian sign languages were independently developed among deaf students in separate Tanzanian schools for the deaf, starting in 1963. However, the use of several is forbidden by their respective schools. In 1984, a standardized Tanzanian Sign Language (TSL or LAT) was proposed by the Tanzania Association for the Deaf, using common or similar signs where these exist in schools that allowed research.
