Tanybria Eximia
''Tanybria'' is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Eumolpinae. It is distributed in Africa. ''Tanybria'' was originally known as ''Eubrachis'', in the sense of , who gave a description of the genus in 1940. However, this name was unavailable, as it was preoccupied by ''Eubrachis'' as first used by Dejean in his catalogue in 1836 (as an unnecessary replacement name for '' Pseudocolaspis''), and ''Eubrachis'' in the sense of Joseph Sugar Baly in 1878 (now a synonym of ''Macrocoma''). Because of this, Burgeon's ''Eubrachis'' was renamed to ''Tanybria'' by Brian J. Selman in 1963. Species * '' Tanybria apicalis'' ( Jacoby, 1881) * '' Tanybria aurichalcea'' ( J. The journal was established in 1841 under the name ''Annals and Magazine of Natural History'' (''Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist.'') and obtained its current title in 1967. The journal was formed by the merger of the ''Magazine of Natural History'' (1828–1840) and the ''Annals of Natural History'' (1838–1840; previously the ''Magazine of Zoology and Botany'', 1836–1838) and '' Loudon and Charlesworth's Magazine of Natural History''. In September 1855, the ''Annals and Magazine of Natural History'' published "On the Law which has Regulated the Introduction of New Species", a paper which Alfred Russel Wallace had written while working in the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo in February of that year. Transactions Of The Entomological Society Of London
The Royal Entomological Society is devoted to the study of insects. Its aims are to disseminate information about insects and improving communication between entomologists. The society was founded in 1833 as the Entomological Society of London. It had many antecedents beginning as the Society of Entomologists of London. History The foundation of the society began with a meeting of "gentlemen and friends of entomological science", held on 3 May 1833 in the British Museum convened by Nicholas Aylward Vigors with the presidency of John George Children. Those present were the Reverend Frederick William Hope, Cardale Babington, William Yarrell, John Edward Gray, James Francis Stephens, Thomas Horsfield, George Thomas Rudd and George Robert Gray. Letters of Adrian Hardy Haworth, George Bennett and John Curtis were read where they expressed their regrets to be unable to attend the meeting.
