Tangled (Jane Wiedlin Album)
''Tangled'' is the third studio album by Jane Wiedlin, released in 1990 on EMI Records. It was also her third solo album after leaving rock group The Go-Go's. The album was produced by Peter Collins (record producer), Peter Collins, with the track "99 Ways" being co-produced with Andy Hill (composer), Andy Hill. Background After the American Top 10 success of the 1988 single "Rush Hour (Jane Wiedlin song), Rush Hour" from the album ''Fur (Jane Wiedlin album), Fur'', ''Tangled'' took two years to complete and upon release failed to gain any commercial success and sold poorly, which in turn eventually led to Wiedlin's departure from EMI Records. Wiedlin would later state that this was largely due to EMI who failed to promote it. The album was supported by a Summer tour in America, with plans for the tour being announced as early as May 1990. Jane Wiedlin
Jane Wiedlin (born May 20, 1958) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and actress, best known as the co-founder, rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist of the new wave music, new wave band The Go-Go's. She voices Dusk, the drummer and backup vocalist of the fictional rock band the the Hex Girls, Hex Girls. She also had a successful solo career. The Go-Go's became one of the most successful American bands of the 1980s, helping popularize new wave music with songs including "We Got the Beat", "Our Lips Are Sealed", and "Vacation (The Go-Go's song), Vacation". As a solo artist, Wiedlin's "Rush Hour (Jane Wiedlin song), Rush Hour" peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Rocky Mountain News
The ''Rocky Mountain News'' (nicknamed the ''Rocky'') was a daily newspaper published in Denver, Colorado, from April 23, 1859, until February 27, 2009. It was owned by the E. W. Scripps Company from 1926 until its closing. the Monday–Friday circulation was 255,427. From the 1940s until 2009, the newspaper was printed in a tabloid format. Under the leadership of president, publisher, and editor John Temple, the ''Rocky Mountain News'' had won four Pulitzer Prizes since 2000. Most recently in 2006, the newspaper won two Pulitzers, in Feature Writing and Feature Photography. The paper's final issue appeared on Friday, February 27, 2009, less than two months shy of its 150th anniversary. Mark Goldenberg (born October 2, 1952) is an American guitarist and songwriter, noted for his session work and composition of successful songs for Linda Ronstadt, the Pointer Sisters, and others. Biography Early career Raised in Chicago, Illinois, Goldenberg studied at the Music Conservatory at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and its Chicago Musical College division at Roosevelt University. When the band he was in, Eddie Boy Band, signed a record deal with MCA, Goldenberg moved to California. Though the band broke up, he remained there as a singer-songwriter. In 1976, Goldenberg began playing guitar with Al Stewart. After playing with Wendy Waldman (who had been Stewart's opening act), Goldenberg started the Cretones with bassist Peter Bernstein and the band went on to record two albums: ''Thin Red Line'' and ''Snap! Tim Pierce
Tim Pierce (born 1958 in Albuquerque) is an American session guitarist. He has worked for artists such as Joe Cocker, Crowded House, Goo Goo Dolls, Michael Jackson, Beth Hart, Roger Waters, Alice Cooper, Johnny Hallyday, Phil Collins, and the Cheetah Girls. Pierce's parents were not musicians, although, unbeknownst to Pierce, his father used to play the trumpet in his youth. He first tasted mainstream success in the early 1980s, when he began recording with Rick Springfield, who was enjoying success with his hit " Jessie's Girl".
