Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a heavier subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and Distortion (music), distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the Garage rock, garage, Psychedelic rock, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Cream (band), Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Shrapnel Records
Shrapnel Records is an American record label group founded by record producer Mike Varney. The group principally uses the ''Shrapnel Records'' record label, a guitar-oriented label which features shred guitar, hard rock, metal and progressive metal. In the 1990s, he also started the ''Tone Center Records'' and ''Blues Bureau International'' sublabels to promote fusion and blues. Blues Bureau artists include Rick Derringer, Eric Gales, Marc Ford, Chris Duarte, Leslie West and Pat Travers. Stacey David Blades is a guitarist originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who has played with such bands as Fraidy Katt, Roxx Gang, Supercool, L.A. Guns, and Electric Radio Kings. He has played on the L.A. Guns studio albums '' Rips the Covers Off'', ''Tales from the Strip'', '' Covered in Guns'', and '' Hollywood Forever'', and the L.A. Guns live album '' Loud and Dangerous: Live from Hollywood''. He authored a book ''Confessions of a Replacement Rockstar'' in 2009 Via Booksurge and Amazon. In 2009, Blades released his first guitar instrumental solo album called ''Symphonic Slam'' on Cleopatra Records. At the end of 2012, Blades decided to leave L.A. The studio portion of the album (songs 1-11) consists of cover songs with guitarist Stacey Blades, though songs 12 and 13 are live versions of "Revolution" and "Don't Look at Me That Way", with guitarists Keri Kelli and Brent Muscat. Phil Lewis (musician)
Philip Francis Lewis (born 9 January 1957) is an English musician, best known as the lead vocalist and occasional rhythm guitarist for the American glam metal band L.A. Guns. Born in London, Lewis has lived and worked in the U.S. since the 1980s but was privately educated at Royal Russell School in Surrey. Early work Lewis started the band Girl (band), Girl with guitarist Gerry Laffy in 1978. They put an advertisement in ''Melody Maker'' for a "peroxide guitar hero," and Phil Collen (current guitarist of Def Leppard) answered. They were soon joined by drummer Dave Gaynor and bassist Mark Megary. Megary was replaced shortly thereafter by Laffy's brother, Simon Laffy. They signed a record deal with Don Arden's label, Jet Records in 1979 and released their first album, ''Sheer Greed'', in 1980. Adam Hamilton (musician)
Adam Hamilton is a Los Angeles-based music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Hamilton is a member of glam metal band L.A. Guns as bass guitar, bassist from 2001 through 2007, again from June to September 2018 as their rhythm guitarist, and again as their studio drummer since 2020. He also played drums for 1990s alternative rock band Joe 90 (band), Joe 90, and worked as session drummer for alternative/neo-psychedelic band The Brian Jonestown Massacre. As a producer, Hamilton has produced albums for several well-known artists, the best known to date being William Shatner for the concept album ''Seeking Major Tom'' (2011). Steve Riley (drummer)
Steve Riley (January 22, 1956 – October 24, 2023) was an American rock drummer, best known for his work with Keel, W.A.S.P., and L.A. Guns. Career Riley was born and raised in the Boston suburb of Revere, Massachusetts. After graduating high school in the 1970s, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career. In 1979, he joined a revival of Steppenwolf, but the lineup broke up later that year. Riley joined up-and-coming L.A. band Keel and recorded their breakthrough album '' The Right to Rock'' with them in 1984. Later that year, Riley departed Keel to replace founding member Tony Richards in W.A.S.P., another L.A. band whose debut album had recently achieved gold status in sales.
