Taiping Houkui
Taiping houkui (; pronounced ) tea is grown at the foot of Huangshan ( 黄 山) in the former Taiping Prefecture, Anhui. It has been grown since the Ming Dynasty and was harvested for emperors during the Qing Dynasty. The tea has been produced commercially since the beginning of the 20th century and is produced around the small village of Hou Keng ( 猴 坑). Huangshan
Huangshan ( zh, s=黄山),Bernstein, pp. 125–127. literally meaning the Yellow Mountain(s), is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China. It was originally called "Yishan", and it was renamed because of a legend that Emperor Xuanyuan once made alchemy here. Vegetation on the range is thickest below , with trees growing up to the treeline at . Taiping Prefecture
Taiping Prefecture () was an administrative region of China during the Ming (1368–1644) and Qing (1644–1911) dynasties that spanned roughly the areas of the modern day cities of Ma'anshan and Wuhu in Anhui Province.
