Scotstoun Stadium
Scotstoun Stadium is an athletics and rugby union stadium in Scotstoun, an area in the West End of Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow Warriors have trained at the facility since 2009 and have played their home games here from the 2012–13 season onwards. The surface is a World Rugby approved artificial turf which is also suitable for athletics. It has a capacity of 9,708 for rugby union. Between 2012 and 2015, the Stadium hosted the Scotland Sevens – the Scottish leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, but then the leg was moved to a new host country, France in 2016. History Opening The facility first opened in 1915 as Scotstoun Showgrounds after the land was developed by the Glasgow Agricultural Society as a venue for agricultural shows. It was soon being used as a venue for sporting events and as a result the Grandstand was erected. Miao Miao ( zh, c=苗苗, p=Miáo Miao) (born 14 January 1981, Tianjin, China) is an Australian table tennis player who represented Australia at the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Her best Olympic result was the quarter-finals of the doubles tournament in Sydney. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, she won a silver medal in the teams competition and a bronze medal in the doubles with Jian Fang Lay. Her parents immigrated to Poland when she was a child, and later to Australia. Quadri Akinade Aruna (born 9 August 1988) is a professional Nigerian table tennis player. He competed for Nigeria at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2016 Summer Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in 2016. He is the first African player to be ranked in the top 10 in the world. At the World Cup 2014, he reached the quarter-finals in the Men's Singles competition. In the 2017 ITTF World Challenge Bulgaria Open, he advanced to the semi-finals, where the eventual winner Dimitrij Ovtcharov defeated him in a tight match. Kelly Sibley (born 21 May 1988) is a former professional table tennis player and current coach from England. Sibley won the singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles at the UK Junior Championships and has represented England at senior level at the Commonwealth Games, European Championships and World Championships. Joanna Drinkhall (née Parker, born 10 June 1987) is a British table tennis player. Career She grew up in Chertsey. She trained at the national academy in Nottingham, from 1999 to 2003. Then she played for a Berlin club. She is currently playing in France for TT Saint Quentin. Joanna has won national singles titles at U12, Cadet, Junior, U21 and Senior levels, girls’ doubles titles at U12, Cadet and Junior and both women's and mixed doubles at Senior level. Paul Drinkhall
Paul Andrew Drinkhall (born 16 January 1990) is a British table tennis player. He won the English Championship in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2024. Career Drinkhall was born in Middlesbrough. His career in table tennis started in 1997 when he went along to watch his grandfather Ray play in a local league near his home. He enjoyed much success as a youngster, winning numerous national championships at his age level, and at levels above his own age. This success did not go unnoticed, as he was shortlisted for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2005, and finished in second place after Theo Walcott in 2006.
