T4 Road (Tanzania)
The T4 is a Trunk road in Tanzania. The road runs along Lake Victoria in the regions of the Lake Zone in Tanzania. The T4 runs from Tarime at the Kenyan border all the way through Mwanza and Bukoba to the Ugandan border. The T4 is the only highway in the country that both starts and ends at an International border. The roads as it is approximately . The road is entirely paved. Route Mwanza Between Kigongo and Busisi, the trunk road traverses over the Mwanza gulf. As part of the trunk road there are several scheduled ferries between the two cities. There are about 1,600 vehicles crossing the channel by ferry per day, spending 35 minutes per crossing. Currently under construction is the Kigongo–Busisi Bridge (Magufuli Bridge), once complete will connect both sides by road and expand the weight limit of this part of the route. Kagera Region (''Mkoa wa Kagera'' in Swahili language, Swahili) is one of Tanzania's 31 Regions of Tanzania, administrative regions. The region covers an area of . Kigongo–Busisi Bridge
The Kigongo–Busisi Bridge, officially the John Pombe Magufuli Bridge, is a road bridge in Tanzania, constructed between December 2019 and December 2024. The bridge spans across the Gulf of Mwanza, linking the areas of Kigongo in the Mwanza Region and Busisi in the Geita Region, cutting crossing time from thirty-five minutes by ferry to four minutes by automobile. It is reported to be the longest bridge in East Africa and the sixth-longest on the African continent. The bridge forms a part of the Tanzanian Trunk Road T4. As part of this road infrastructure project, a tarmacked road will be constructed to link the eastern end of the bridge to the city of Mwanza. Busisi
Sengerema District is one of seven districts in the Mwanza Region of Tanzania, East Africa. Its administrative headquarter is located in Sengerema city. It is bordered to the north and east by Lake Victoria, to the south by Geita Region and to the southeast by the Misungwi District. Geita
Geita is a city and regional capital of Geita Region in northwestern Tanzania. The city is known for its gold trade. Geita, with a population of 318,006 (2022 census), is located in the centre of a gold mining area. History In the late nineteenth century, German mineral prospecting identified the gold deposits in the region in the late nineteenth century. However, plans for large-scale gold mining was disrupted due the World War I. Tanzania, which was part of the German East Africa colony, was granted to Britain after the Treaty of Versailles. Mwanza City, also known as Rock City to the residents, is a port city and capital of Mwanza Region on the southern shore of Lake Victoria in north-western Tanzania.
