Syrian Public Security Police
The Public Security Police () was the main police, police service of Ba'athist Syria. It was charged with maintaining law and order, protecting life and property and investigating crimes. It also performed other routine police functions, including traffic control. BTR-60
The BTR-60 is the first vehicle in a series of Soviet Union, Soviet eight-wheeled armoured personnel carriers (APCs). It was developed in the late 1950s as a replacement for the BTR-152 and was seen in public for the first time in 1961. BTR (vehicle), BTR stands for ''bronetransportyor'' (). Political Security Directorate
The Political Security Directorate (PSD, ) was an intelligence service of Ba'athist Syria. It was divided into an Internal Security Department and an External Security Department. Intelligence division was affiliated to the Ministry of Interior. Its activities involved the surveillance of the satellite parties of National Progressive Front and was active against the Syrian opposition. It monitors literature, print publications, political dissent, and all media outlets. This intelligence service was headed by Major General Ghaith Shafeeq Deeb from February 5, 2021 until December 2024. Ba'athist Syria, officially the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR), was the Syrian state between 1963 and 2024 under the One-party state, one-party rule of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Syria Region, Syrian regional branch of the Ba'ath Party (Syrian-dominated faction), Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party. The Mil Mi-17 (NATO reporting name: Hip) is a Soviet-designed Russian military helicopter family introduced in 1975 (Mi-8M), continuing in production at two factories in Russia, in Kazan and Ulan-Ude.
