Symphonicities
''Symphonicities'' is the tenth studio album by English musician Sting, released on 14 July 2010 on Deutsche Grammophon. This is his first studio album featuring new recordings of existing songs drawn from both his solo career and from The Police (the second one to date being the 2019 studio album '' My Songs''). The title of the album is a play on that of The Police' 1983 album ''Synchronicity''. Background The album is a companion piece to the tour of the same name in which Sting, performing with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, reinterprets some of his songs as classical symphonic compositions. Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (born 2 October 1951), known as Sting, is an English musician, activist, and actor. He was the frontman, principal songwriter and bassist for New wave music, new wave band the Police from 1977 until their breakup in 1986. He launched a solo career in 1985 and has included elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, New-age music, new-age, and worldbeat in his music. Early life

Mathes was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to classical musicians and music instructors Joan and George Mathes. The family moved to Greenwich, Connecticut, where his parents taught music with the local schools and privately. Rob Mathes showed interest and skill in music at a very early age. "I Hung My Head" is a song written by the singer-songwriter Sting and released on the 1996 album ''Mercury Falling''. "Englishman in New York" is a song by the English singer-songwriter Sting, from his second studio album '' Nothing Like the Sun'', released in October 1987. Branford Marsalis played soprano saxophone on the track, while the drums were played by Manu Katché and the percussion by Mino Cinélu. The single was released in February 1988 as the third single from the album, but only reached No. 51 on the UK Singles Chart. ''My Songs'' is the fourteenth album by British singer-songwriter Sting and his second album to feature new renditions of previously released material (after 2010's ''Symphonicities''). The album was released on 24 May 2019. Background The album features fifteen reworked versions of a selection of Sting's most widely recognised songs from across his career. Via his social media outlets, Sting described the new versions of the songs as being "reconstructed", "refitted" and "reframed", but "with a contemporary focus". Some songs on the album have been remixed using elements of the original tracks, while others are complete re-recordings. A remixed version of " Brand New Day" produced for ''My Songs'' was released on 31 December 2018. This version was first performed live in Times Square on the same day. ''Sting ... Live in Berlin'' is a live album and concert film by Sting and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. It was recorded and filmed on 21 September 2010 at the O2 World (as it had been known at the time) in Berlin.
