Syed Hasan (writer)
Syed Hasan (1 January 1908 18 November 1988) was an Indian writer, scholar and professor of Persian language and literature from Patna, Bihar. He was a great scholar "steeped into Persian". He headed the Persian Department of Patna University from 1972 to 1978. In 1954–55, he was awarded a scholarship under the Government of India Foreign Languages Scholarships Scheme for Studying in Iran. Patna University
Patna University is a public state university in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established on 1 October 1917 during the British Raj. It is the first university in Bihar and the seventh oldest university in the Indian subcontinent in the modern era. It offers different undergraduate and postgraduate degree level courses. History Patna University was established by an Act of the Imperial Legislative Council passed in September 1917. It started the journey in October 1917 as an affiliating and examining body when JG Jennings took charge of this university as the first vice-chancellor. In the modern era of India, it is one of the oldest universities in this region. Later in 1919, the governing bodies of the university—the Senate and the Syndicate—were formed. Ghalib Award
Mirza Ghalib Award, commonly known as Ghalib Award, is a literary award and an honor in India presented annually in the month of December by Ghalib Academy (Ghalib Institute). It was established and named after a greatest Indian poet Ghalib. The award seeks to recognize those writers and researchers who have made "meritorious contribution" to Urdu and Persian literature. It carries an amount of cash reward ₹25,000 to 50,000 and an insignia along with a citation and a certificate of commendation. It is generally announced by the Ghalib Institute Award Committee after a consensus, comprising uncertain number of the members and is conferred upon poets, writers and researchers at Aiwan-e-Ghalib, an auditorium in Delhi. Mohammad Sharaf-e-Alam
Mohammad Sharaf-e-Alam is an Indian writer, educationist, scholar of Persian language and the first vice chancellor of Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University. He served at the university from 2004 till 2007 and has worked at B. N. College as the head of the department of Persian Language. He is also credited with several publications. Alam, a recipient of the Certificate of Honour from the Government of India, was honored again by the Government, in 2013, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri. An academy ( Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece. Etymology The word comes from the ''Academy'' in ancient Greece, which derives from the Athenian hero, ''Akademos''. Outside the city walls of Athens, the gymnasium was made famous by Plato as a center of learning. The sacred space, dedicated to the goddess of wisdom, Athena, had formerly been an olive grove, hence the expression "the groves of Academe".
