Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani
Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani ( fa, میر سید علی همدانی; CE) was a Persian scholar, poet and a Sufi Muslim saint of the Kubrawiya order. He was born in Hamadan, Iran and preached Islam in Central Asia and Kashmir as he travelled to practice Sufism. He died in Kashmir and was buried in Khatlan, Tajikistan in 1384 CE, aged 71–72. Hamadani was also addressed honorifically throughout his life as the ''Shāh-e-Hamadān'' ("King of Hamadan"), ''Amīr-i Kabīr'' ("the Great Commander"), and ''Ali Sani'' ("second Ali"). Early life The title "Sayyid" indicates that he was a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, possibly from both sides of his family. Syed Ali Ahsan ( bn, সৈয়দ আলী আহসান; 26 March 1922 – 25 June 2002) was a Bangladeshi poet, writer and university academic. He was awarded Ekushey Padak (1982) and Independence Day Award (1987) by the Government of Bangladesh. In 1987, he was selected as the National Professor of Bangladesh. He was credited as the official English translator of the National Anthem of Bangladesh. Early life Ahsan was born on 26 March 1922, to a Bengali Muslim family of Syeds in the village of Alokdia in Magura (formerly under Jessore District), Bengal Province. Darul Ihsan University ( bn, দারুল ইহসান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) or DIU was a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded by late Syed Ali Ashraf in 1989. Safi Lakhnavi (Urdu: صفی لکھنوی, Hindi: सफ़ी लखनवी ), born Syed Ali Naqi Zaidi (2 January 1862 – 1950), was a prominent Urdu poet. He was born in the city of Lucknow, India in a family of Zaidi Syeds who claimed direct descent from Husain ibn Ali. His father Syed Fazal Husain was appointed an ''Ataliq'' (tutor) to Prince Suleiman Qader Bahadur, son of Nawab Amjad Ali of Awadh.
