Swimming New Zealand is the national governing body of swimming, in New Zealand. The men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay event at the 2008 Olympic Games took place on 10–11 August at the Beijing National Aquatics Center in Beijing, China. Prior to the race, the French team was reported to be very confident of its ultimate victory, with world record holder Alain Bernard saying: "The Americans? We're going to smash them. Swimming At The 2010 Commonwealth Games – Women's 50 Metre Freestyle
The Women's 50 metre freestyle event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games took place on October 7 and 8 2010, at the SPM Swimming Pool Complex. Six heats were held, with most containing the maximum number of swimmers (eight). The top sixteen advanced to the semifinals and the top eight from there qualified for the finals. Swimming At The 2009 World Aquatics Championships
The Swimming portion of the 13th FINA World Aquatics Championships was held at the Foro Italico sports complex in Rome, Italy from Sunday 26 July – Sunday 2 August 2009. It featured 40 long course (50m) events (20 for males, 20 for females; 17 individual events and 3 relays for each gender). Competition schedule The evening session schedule for the 2009 Worlds was: Note: prelims/semifinals/finals were swum in events 200 m and shorter; prelims/finals in events 400 m or longer. For prelims/semifinals/finals events, prelims and semis were held on the same day, with finals being the evening of the following day. For the 400 m events and the 800 m relays, prelims and finals were held the same day. Glenn Andrew Mark Snyders (born 7 April 1987) is a South African-born former competitive swimmer for New Zealand. Zac Reid
Zac Reid (born 28 January 2000) is a New Zealand swimmer. He competed in the men's 400 metre freestyle at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships, and the 2020 Summer Olympics. At the games, Reid won his heat in the Men's 800m free, breaking his own New Zealand record in the process and finishing 18th out of 34.  He also competed in the 400m free, where he placed 23 out of 36. He earned the 2020 Taranaki Swimmer of the Year award and picked up a record fourth victory in the Flannagan Cup ocean swim in February 2021. Reid was named overall 2021 Taranaki Sportsperson of the Year at the Taranaki Sports Awards.
