Hanken School of Economics (, also known as Hanken) is a business school in Finland with two campuses, Helsinki and Vaasa. Founded in 1909, it is the oldest business school in Finland, and one of the oldest in the Nordic countries. Its programmes are offered in both English and Swedish. History Hanken was established in Helsinki on 1 September 1909, making it one of the oldest business schools in northern Europe, opening a month after the Stockholm School of Economics. The statutory meeting for in Helsinki was held in December 1908, and only four months later the private community college under the name of statutes were approved. Kai Harri Hietarinta (; born 25 November 1932) is a Finnish businessman and ice hockey executive. His lengthy career in the petroleum industry as executive vice president of Neste involved him in Finland's international trade policy, and importing Soviet oil to reduce the trade surplus. Becoming the Finnish Ice Hockey Association president to resolve disputes, he used business connections to gain an advantage in international ice hockey. Harry Juhani "Hjallis" Harkimo (born 2 November 1953) is a Finnish businessman, sportsperson, and a member of the Finnish Parliament. Previously a National Coalition Party MP, he chairs his own political party, Movement Now. First elected to the Parliament in 2015 representing NCP, his tenure in the party was cut short following his complaints about leadership in 2018. Carl Christoffer "Calle" Haglund (born 29 March 1979 in Espoo) is the CEO of Veritas, a Finnish Pension insurance company, former MP, former chairman of the Swedish People's Party and the former Minister of Defence. CERS (Centre for Relationship Marketing and Service Management) is a research and competence centre at the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. The centre specialises in research on service marketing. There are currently about 50 senior researchers and doctoral students associated with CERS.
