Svendborgbanen
Svendborgbanen is the railway line between Odense and Svendborg, inaugurated on 12 July 1876. The line was established by Sydfyenske Jernbaner, and taken over by DSB on 1 April 1949. Since 13 December 2020, the line has been managed by Arriva, a private multinational company. During the daytime, two trains each hour drive the stretch between Odense and Svendborg in both directions that do not stop at all stations (only one train in the evening hours). Additionally, a train drives between Odense and Ringe once an hour, during day and evening hours, in both directions that stop at all stations. Svendborg Station
Svendborg railway station ( da, Svendborg Banegård og ''Svendborg Station'') is the principal railway station serving the town of Svendborg on the island of Funen, Denmark. The station was built in 1876 for the opening of Svendborgbanen July 12, 1876. The main building is designed by N. P. C. Holsøe. The building was opened July 10, 1878. The station building contains a DSB kiosk and a DSB travel agency. The kiosk has since been converted to a 7-Eleven store. DSB tickets are available for purchase in the 7-Eleven store. There also is a Fynbus customer service center that sells bus passes. The station contains an indoor waiting area, however the travel agency no longer is in operation. The Fynbus local city bus stop is located on the street side of the station, and the regional bus station is located on the opposite side of the tracks. Odense Station
Odense Station ( da, Odense Banegård Center) is the main railway station serving the city of Odense, Denmark. Situated as a major station on the Copenhagen–Fredericia/Taulov line, it is also the terminus of the Svendborgbanen railway line between Odense and Svendborg. The first station in Odense, now demolished, opened in 1865 as the railway line across the island of Funen was completed. The current station building opened in 1995. History The current station building is Odense's third, having opened on 15 September 1995. The Siemens Desiro (, , ) is a family of diesel or electric multiple unit passenger trains developed by Siemens Mobility, a division of the German Siemens AG conglomerate. The main variants are the Desiro Classic, Desiro ML, Desiro UK and the later Desiro City, Desiro HC and Desiro RUS. The trains are mostly used for commuter and regional services, and their rapid acceleration makes them suitable for services with short distances between stations. Pederstrup is a historic manor house located north of Nakskov on the Danish island of Lolland. The half-timbered building from 1686 was rebuilt from 1813 to 1822 in the Neoclassical style by the statesman Christian Ditlev Frederik Reventlow. Since 1940, it has housed the Reventlow Museum. History Pederstrup was first mentioned in the 1340s when the estate belonged to Rigsdrost Laurits Jonsen. A vaulted cellar from the mid-16th century is the oldest remaining part of the building which then served as the residence of the king's vassal. In 1576, King Frederick II sold the property to the Venstermand family. In 1684, the half-timbered building was purchased by the statesman Peder von Brandt who added two symmetrical wings in the Baroque style. In 1725, the estate was acquired by Count Christian Detlev Reventlow, the half-brother of Anna Sophie Reventlow, Frederick IV's second wife.
