Sully (music Producer)
Jack Stevens, better known by his stage name Sully is a jungle DJ and producer from Norwich, England. He is best known for his contribution to the 2020s increase in jungle music popularity. Early life Prior to his electronic music career, Sully worked a nine-to-five job at the UK post office, whilst playing in Leicestershire metal band Niroth. Following the separation of this band, Sully learned to produce electronic music. Career Sully established his name in the UK bass music scene in the late 2000s, releasing dubstep and UK garage on several UK labels including Second Drop and Frijsfo Beats. His early releases was characterised by a breakbeat-led approach to garage production. In 2011, he released his debut LP ''Carrier'' on Keysound Recordings. The album was noted to span a wide range of tempos and styles, and influences from the footwork genre which was beginning to rise in popularity in the UK. A music tracker, or simply a tracker, is a type of music sequencer software for creating music. The music is represented as discrete musical notes positioned in several channels at chronological positions on a vertical timeline. A music tracker's user interface is traditionally number based. Renoise is a digital audio workstation (DAW) based upon the heritage and development of tracker software. UK Funky
UK funky (sometimes known as UKF or funky) is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England that is heavily influenced by soca, soulful house, tribal house, funky house, UK garage, broken beat and grime. Typically, UK funky blends beats, bass loops and synths with African and Latin percussion in the dembow rhythm with contemporary R&B-style vocals. Characteristics UK funky uses tempos of around 130bpm. Drum patterns vary between tracks, using either " 4 to the floor" or a syncopated style. The drum patterns commonly also include percussion playing African inspired rhythms. Instrumentation varies widely, but drum machines and synthesizers are common. Future garage is a genre of electronic music that incorporates a variety of influences from UK garage and softer elements from 2-step garage, leading to an off-kilter rhythmic style. Characteristic sounds are pitched vocal chops, warm filtered reese basses, dark atmospheres (including synth pads, field recordings and other atmospheric sounds) and vinyl crackle. From November 2001 to November 2018, the London nightclub fabric ran a monthly mix compilation series. Mixed by a variety of emerging and established DJs, the two series were entitled ''fabric'' and ''FABRICLIVE'' respectively. The compilation mixes were released independently by fabric on an alternating monthly basis.
