Suitcase (Neil Arthur Album)
''Suitcase'' (1994) is the debut solo album by Neil Arthur. Before the release of the album in 1994, the song " One Day, One Time" had been released as Arthur's debut solo single in 1992, but failed to chart. However it was a radio hit. When the album surfaced, it failed to chart within the UK Top 100. Despite the lack of commercial success from the album, the second and final single "I Love I Hate" peaked at #50 in the UK in 1994, and lasted within the Top 100 for two weeks. In January 2013, Arthur was interviewed for the StevoMusicMan wordpress website, and was asked about the ''Suitcase'' album. The interviewer asked if Arthur felt strange working on an album without his Blancmange partner Stephen Luscombe, and what he learnt from the project. Arthur revealed: "No, it didn't feel strange at all. I enjoyed making it. I'm still learning! I'll do another one day one time!" Neil Arthur
Blancmange () are an English synth-pop band formed in Harrow, London, in 1979. The band were a duo for much of their career, composed of Neil Arthur (vocals) and Stephen Luscombe (keyboards). They came to prominence in the early 1980s, releasing four UK top-20 singles: " Living on the Ceiling", "Waves", "Blind Vision" and " Don't Tell Me". They released three studio albums during that decade: '' Happy Families'' (1982), ''Mange Tout'' (1984) and ''Believe You Me'' (1985). The duo amicably broke up in 1986 but reformed in the late 2000s, and in 2011 released their fourth studio album, '' Blanc Burn''. Luscombe left following the release due to ill health, and since then Arthur alone has continued to perform under the Blancmange name, releasing nine new studio albums along with a re-recording of the band's debut studio album, titled '' Happy Families Too...'' Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Chrysalis Records () is a British record label that was founded in 1968. The name is both a reference to the pupal stage of a butterfly and a combination of its founders' names, Chris Wright and Terry Ellis. It started as the Ellis-Wright Agency. Marius de Vries (born 1961) is an English music producer and composer. He has won a Grammy Award from four nominations, two BAFTA Awards, and an Ivor Novello Award. ''The Sunday Life'' is a tabloid newspaper in Northern Ireland and has been published since 23 October 1988. It is the sister paper of '' The Belfast Telegraph'' and is owned by Independent News & Media. Fortran 5 was an electronic music band active during the 1990s. Background The band were made up of members David Baker and Simon Leonard, who had previously worked together on the music project known as I Start Counting."Konnecting - I Start Counting" Sleeve Notes.
