Description The shell is c. 8 mm in height and up 4.5 mm wide. It has 3 to 3½ strongly arched whorls which are set off from each other by a deep suture. The last whorl is highly inflated, the aperture height occupying about half of the total height. The shell is dextral and relatively thick-walled. The shell is opaque, the surface is matte. Jacques Philippe Raymond Draparnaud (3 June 1772, Montpellier – 2 February 1804) was a French naturalist, malacologist and botanist. He is considered the father of malacology in France. He was professor of medicine and pathology at the Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier. AnimalBase is a project brought to life in 2004 and is maintained by the University of Göttingen, Germany.
