Nyapathi Subba Rao Pantulu (popularly known as Andhra Bhishma) (14 January 1856 – 15 January 1941) was an Indian politician and social activist who served as a member of the Madras Legislative Council between 1893 and 1909. He was also one of the Triplicane Six, founders of ''The Hindu,'' and General Secretary of the Indian National Congress from 1914 to 1917''.'' Early life Pantulu was born in a Telugu-speaking Deshastha Madhva Brahmin family in Nellore on 14 January 1856, but later moved to Rajahmundry. Tallapragada Subba Row (July 6, 1856 – June 24, 1890) was an Indian Theosophist from a Hindu background and originally worked as a Vakil (Pleader) within the Indian justice system. His primary instructors in this field were Messrs. Grant and Laing, who saw to his establishment as a Vakil, a profession which became highly profitable for the time that he held it. However, Subba Row's interest in the law paled when compared to the way he devoured philosophy, especially after an event in which he met two particular individuals. In 1882, he invited Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott to Madras (now Chennai), where he convinced them to make Adyar the permanent headquarters for the Theosophical Society. Tata Subba Rao (1942 – 13 April 2018] was a professor of statistics in the School of Mathematics, University of Manchester. He gained his MA at Karnatak, his PhD from Gauhati University in 1966 under the guidance of Jyotiprasad Medhi, and DSc from Manchester in 1988. He was a specialist in time series analysis especially non-stationary and non-linear time series analysis, higher order spectral analysis, theory of random fields, time series methods for analysis of environmental variables (detection of climatic changes etc.) and multivariate nonlinear models. Rayaprolu Subbarao (1892–1984) was among the pioneers of modern Telugu literature. He is known as Abhinava Nannaya. He was recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award to Telugu Writers for his poetic work ''Misra Manjari'' in 1965. He was inspired by the Western literary movement and brought romanticism into Telugu literature by breaking away from the traditional translations of Sanskrit literature. Ponnada Subba Rao was an Indian politician and lawyer. He represented the Nowrangpur constituency in the 1st Lok Sabha (lower house of the parliament of India) elected in 1952. Early life and youth He was born in Yellamacnchili, Vizagapatam District, on 7 November 1889, son of Ponnada Ramayya. Nanduri Venkata Subbarao F.A., B.A., B.L. (16 December 1895 – 29 May 1957) was a famous Telugu poet. His famous works include ''Yenki Patalu'' (an anthology of songs on and by a woman called Yenki). Adurthi Subba Rao (16 December 1912 – 1 October 1975) was an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor, primarily recognized for his contributions to Telugu cinema, with a few works in Hindi and Tamil cinema. In an era dominated by mythological and fantasy genres, Subba Rao was a trailblazer in introducing social dramas and contemporary narratives to Telugu cinema. Koka Subba Rao (15 July 1902 – 6 May 1976) was the ninth Chief Justice of India (1966–1967). He also served as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Early life He was born into a Velama family at Rajamahendravaram on the banks of Godavari River in present day Andhra Pradesh. His father, a lawyer, died early.
