The Student Committee of Solidarity () was a student group created in Kraków in 1977 whose purpose was opposition to the Communist government in Poland.Michael H. Stanisław Pyjas
Stanisław Włodzimierz Pyjas (1953–1977) was a Polish student of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, member of the anticommunist student movements. He died on 7 May 1977, in Kraków. The exact circumstances of Pyjas’ death are still a mystery and his case, which is still disputed, shook public opinion in Poland. According to one scenario he was murdered and the killers, probably members of the Służba Bezpieczeństwa, communist Secret Services, arranged the death to look like an accident. The official scenario, however, states that his death occurred after he fell from the stairs while being drunk. Bronisław Wildstein (born 11 June 1952, Olsztyn, Poland) is a former Polish dissident, a journalist, freelance author and, from 11 May 2006 to 28 February 2007, was the chief executive officer of ''Telewizja Polska'' (Polish state-owned television). Wildstein rose to nationwide prominence in Poland in January and February 2005, after he smuggled files on informers and victims of the former communist secret police (''Służba Bezpieczeństwa'') from the Institute of National Remembrance ''(IPN)'' and distributed them to fellow journalists. Ludwik Dorn
Ludwik Stanisław Dorn (, 5 June 1954 – 7 April 2022) was a Polish conservative politician, who served as Deputy Prime Minister and member of Sejm elected on 5 November 2007. Biography Dorn was born Ludwik Dornbaum, to Polish-Jewish parents Henryk Dornbaum, a socialist activist and Alina née Kugler, a doctor. All of his father's family was murdered during the Holocaust. In the 1960s Dornbaum family changed their name to Dorn. He was raised agnostic, but he converted to Roman Catholicism at the age of 51. Dorn graduated with a degree in sociology from Warsaw University in 1978. Róża Maria Thun (Róża Maria Barbara Fürstin von Thun und Hohenstein, ''née'' Woźniakowska, born 13 April 1954), is a Polish politician, more usually known as Róża Thun than by her formal style of Countess and from 1990 her style changed to Princess. Lesław Maleszka (born 15 November 1952 in Zakopane) is a Polish librarian, journalist, opposition activist in the Polish People's Republic, secret collaborator of the Polish Communist secret police.
