Rotherham () is a large minster and market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town takes its name from the River Rother which then merges with the River Don. The River Don then flows through the town centre. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. Rotherham is also the third largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield and Doncaster, which it is located between. Traditional industries included glass making and flour milling. Most around the time of the industrial revolution, it was also known as a coal mining town as well as a contributor to the steel industry. The town's historic county is Yorkshire. Stuart McLean (footballer)
Stuart McLean (born 13 December 1955) is a Scottish former footballer whose position was right-back. In his professional career, McLean played solely for Kilmarnock, amassing over 500 games in all competitions over sixteen seasons; he is third on the club's all-time appearance list. Club career McLean joined Kilmarnock as a teenager from Ayrshire club Darvel Juniors in 1974, and spent some time in the youth team ''Kilmarnock Star'' alongside future team-mate at senior level, Paul Clarke. After making his debut in November 1974 versus Clyde in a 4–2 defeat a few weeks before his 19th birthday, McLean thereafter became a regular in the first-team under Willie Fernie, starting 19 league games during that season in Scotland's top flight. However, while Kilmarnock finished 12th of 18 clubs, they were one of eight that missed out in the mid-1970s divisional restructure. Stewart McLean
Stewart Edgertson McLean (21 November 1913 – 13 April 1996) was a Manitoba politician. He served as a cabinet minister in the governments of Dufferin Roblin and Walter Weir, and unsuccessfully ran for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba in 1967. The son of David McLean, he was born and raised in Dauphin, Manitoba, and received a B.A. and an LL.B. from the University of Saskatchewan. McLean came down with tuberculosis before he entered service in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He was called to the Manitoba bar in 1945, and served as Mayor of Dauphin from 1955 to 1958. In 1958, McLean was elected to the Manitoba legislature for the riding of Dauphin. A Progressive Conservative, McLean was appointed Minister of Education in the minority government of Dufferin Roblin.
