Stu Allen
Stu Allan (6 February 1962 – 22 September 2022) was a British dance music DJ and producer who worked for Piccadilly Radio and Key 103 in Manchester in the 1980s and 1990s. His hip hop, hardcore techno and house music mixes ranked him the world's No. 3 DJ by ''DJ Magazine'' in 1993. His performances significantly influenced the music scene during this period. Biography Born and raised in Anglesey, Wales, he moved to Manchester in 1982 and took up DJing. Between 1984 and 1986, his mixes/remixes were featured on Piccadilly Radio, Manchester on various shows including Timmy Mallet, Chris Evans, and Tim Grundy. In July 1986, he was given his own show on Piccadilly Radio. He was originally filling in for the regular DJ on a 6-week holiday, but the reaction was so great from listeners that he was signed on permanently. He began featuring hip-hop and house music. Pure Dance is a British online radio station specialising in dance music. History Originally active in the early 2000s, Pure Dance broadcast on satellite television and online via Windows Media Audio, RealPlayer, and mp3PRO streams. Typical music included trance, hardcore, house, and club music. Clock (dance Act)
Clock were a British group from Manchester, England, primarily led by Stu Allan and Pete Pritchard and fronted by rapper Marcus Thomas (using the name ODC MC) and vocalist Lorna Saunders (using the name Tinka), though the single "Keep the Fires Burning" was sung by Georgia Lewis. They resembled many Eurodance acts of the time with a female singer and male rapper. Their earlier work was harder, similar to Cappella, but once they started releasing covers, their sound became more dance/pop oriented. Thomas left in 1998 to join the band Tzant, to be replaced by Ché-gun Peters. They had a string of top 40 hits with nine covers during the 1990s on the UK Singles Chart.
