Street Parade
The Street Parade is a techno music festival in Zurich, Switzerland. With around one million attendees, it is the world's most attended technoparade. The Street Parade takes place annually on the second Saturday in August. Officially a demonstration for freedom, love and tolerance, the parade proceeds along the northern edge of Lake Zurich. The first Street Parade (the English name is used in German) took place on 5 September 1992, initiated by student Marek Krynski and was officially called the Demonstration for Love, Peace, Liberty, Generosity and Tolerance (). About 1,000 people took part, dancing behind two motorized floats with sound equipment, DJs and dancers known as ''Lovemobiles''. Lake Zurich
Lake Zurich (, ; ) is a lake in Switzerland, extending southeast of the city of Zurich. Depending on the context, Lake Zurich or can be used to describe the lake as a whole, or just that part of the lake downstream of the Hurden peninsula and Seedamm causeway (between Pfäffikon and Rapperswil). In the latter case, the upstream part of the lake is called '' Obersee'' (), while the lower part is sometimes also referred to as the Lower Lake (), respectively. Michel von Tell (born October 8, 1980) is a Swiss journalist, consultant, artist and racing driver. Life Von Tell was a professional baseball player in the Swiss NLB league. Von Tell studied economics and was active in the financial investment sector. In 2012 he sold most of his companies and began to work in media. Free Parties
A free party is a party "free" from the restrictions of the legal club scene, similar to the Free festival, free festival movement. It typically involves a Sound system (DJ)#Free party, sound system playing electronic dance music from late at night until the time when the organisers decide to go home. A free party may be multiple sound systems. If the party becomes a festival, it becomes a teknival. ''Free'' in this context describes the entry fee and the lack of restrictions and law enforcement. A technoparade (taken from the German word "Technoparade") is a parade of vehicles equipped with strong loudspeakers and amplifiers playing electronic dance music. It resembles a carnival parade in some respects, but the vehicles (called lovemobiles) are usually less elaborately decorated. Unlike some carnival parades, a technoparade does not share the tradition of bombarding the spectators with sweets. However, the revellers do occasionally throw confetti (usually larger and more sparkly than that in a carnival parade) and spray foam from the vehicles onto the crowd. Nearly all of the vehicles are converted trucks. In order to power the amplifiers, the trucks are frequently equipped with an additional electrical generator. For safety reasons, horse-drawn floats are never used in technoparades: there would be a danger of horses panicking from the noise and chaos. The Fuckparade is an annual summer technoparade in Berlin. The event began in 1997 as a demonstration against the increasing commercialisation of culture and public life and the misuse of the right of assembly by purely commercial ventures, in particular the Love Parade. The event has had problems with the authorities since 2001, but in 2007 the Federal Administrative Court of Germany decided that it met the definition of a demonstration. Tom Novy
Tom Novy (born Thomas Reichold; 10 March 1970) is a DJ and producer from Munich, Germany. Biography Tom Novy lived in Munich in his youth and attended the Luitpold Gymnasium in Munich. In the mid-1980s he started to DJ and got his first residency at the Babalu Club. Novy started producing music in 1994 when he signed for the Munich-based record label Kosmo Records with his first record "I House U", a cover of the Jungle Brothers' "I'll House You", with lyrics by Novy. His original tracks ran more along the subgenre of European-flavoured progressive house. Since then, Novy has moved to a Chicago-style garage house sound, usually vocalized.
