Streatham St Leonard's (ward)
Streatham St Leonard's is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Lambeth, United Kingdom. The ward has existed since the creation of the borough on 1 April 1965 and was first used in the 1964 elections. It returns three councillors to Lambeth London Borough Council. It is located in the south west of the borough and shares a border with Wandsworth. The ward comprises the western part of the Streatham town centre and is mostly to the west of the A23 Streatham High Road, with the exception of the Stanthorpe Triangle area immediately east of St Leonard's church in the historic village centre. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 14,550. St Leonard's ward is located in the Streatham Parliamentary constituency. The local Member of Parliament since 2019 is Bell Ribeiro-Addy of the Labour Party. Lambeth London Borough Council, which styles itself Lambeth Council, is the local authority for the London Borough of Lambeth in Greater London, England. It is a London borough council, one of the 32 in London. The council has been under Labour majority control since 2006. The council meets at Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton and has its main offices at the nearby Civic Centre. History There has been an elected Lambeth local authority since 1856 when the vestry of the ancient parish of Lambeth was incorporated under the Metropolis Management Act 1855. Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 2 May 2002. The whole council was up for election with boundary changes reducing the number of councillors by one since the last election in 1998 Lambeth Council election, 1998. 2006 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 4 May 2006. The whole council was up for election with no boundary changes since the last election in 2002. The Labour Party gained control of the council, replacing the Liberal Democrat and Conservative coalition that had run the council since the previous election. The election was notable for the Labour Party managing to win control of the borough despite a marginal fall in its overall percentage share of the vote. Labour taking Lambeth was also against the trend of the 2006 local election body elections which saw Labour lose control of 18 councils with a loss of 319 councillors. Benjamin William Everitt (born 22 November 1979) is a British Conservative Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Milton Keynes North from 2019 to 2024. Early life and career Everitt was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire, in 1979 to parents Peter and Rosemary Everitt.
