"Strange" is a 1991 song by American vocal girl group En Vogue, and appears on their first compilation album, '' Remix to Sing'' (1991). The song features Maxine Jones and Dawn Robinson on lead vocals. It is known as "Strange (House Remix)", the original version is from their debut album, '' Born to Sing'' (1990). A commercial single was never officially released, the song was only serviced to dance clubs in the US and UK. It peaked at number 44 on the US ''Billboard'' Dance Club Songs chart. En Vogue is an American vocal girl group whose original lineup consisted of singers Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones. Formed in Oakland, California, in 1989, En Vogue reached No. 2 on the US Hot 100 with the single " Hold On", taken from their 1990 debut album '' Born to Sing''. The group's 1992 follow-up album '' Funky Divas'' reached the top 10 in both the US and UK, and included their second US number-two hit " My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" as well as the US top-10 hits " Giving Him Something He Can Feel", " Free Your Mind" and "Riddle". David Quantick (born 14 May 1961) is an English novelist, comedy writer and critic, who has worked as a journalist and screenwriter. A former freelance writer for the music magazine ''NME'', his writing credits have included '' On the Hour'', '' Blue Jam'' and '' TV Burp''. He won an Emmy Award for ''Veep'' in 2015. New jack swing, new jack, or swingbeat is a fusion genre of the rhythms and production techniques of hip hop and dance-pop, and the urban contemporary sound of R&B.
