Straight Dance
The Straight Dance, also known as Southern Straight Dance or Southern Traditional, is a style of Native Americans in the United States, Native American pow wow dancing. The dance recounts the story of hunting or war parties searching for the enemy. Origins The Straight Dance is attributed to the Southern Plains Plains Indians, tribes in Oklahoma. The Hethuska, a prominent war society of the Poncas, is commonly attributed with the creation of the dance; however, the Pawnee people, Pawnee, Omaha people, Omaha, Osage Nation, Osage, and Kiowa tribes have sometimes been credited with creating the dance. In the 20th century, when several warrior societies began to dissolve, the purpose of the war dances changed. Osage Nation
The Osage Nation ( ) () is a Midwestern Native American nation of the Great Plains. The tribe began in the Ohio and Mississippi river valleys around 1620 A.D along with other groups of its language family, then migrated west in the 17th century due to Iroquois incursions. The term "Osage" is a French version of the tribe's name, which can be roughly translated as "calm water". The Osage people refer to themselves in their Dhegihan Siouan language as (). By the early 19th century, the Osage had become the dominant power in the region, feared by neighboring tribes. Otter

Roach (headdress)
Porcupine hair roaches are a traditional male headdress of a number of Indigenous peoples of the Americas, Native American tribes in what is now New England, the Great Lakes and Missouri River regions, including the Potawatomi who lived where Chicago now stands. A powwow (also pow wow or pow-wow) is a gathering with dances held by many Native American and First Nations communities. Omaha People
The Omaha are a federally recognized Midwestern Native American tribe who reside on the Omaha Reservation in northeastern Nebraska and western Iowa, United States. The Omaha Indian Reservation lies primarily in the southern part of Thurston County and northeastern Cuming County, Nebraska, but small parts extend into the northeast corner of Burt County and across the Missouri River into Monona County, Iowa. The Ponca people are a nation primarily located in the Great Plains of North America that share a common Ponca culture, history, and language, identified with two Indigenous nations: the Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma or the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.
