Stožice Stadium
Stožice Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was designed by Sadar + Vuga architects and is the biggest football stadium in the country. It lies in the Bežigrad district, north of the city centre. The stadium is part of the Stožice Sports Park sports complex. The stadium is the home ground of Olimpija Ljubljana and is the main venue of the Slovenia national football team. In addition to football, the stadium is also intended for cultural events. History The stadium was named after the area in which it is located, and a change of the name is possible in the future due to sponsorship rights. Together with an indoor arena, it is a part of the Stožice Sports Park. The stadium's built-up area measures 24.614 square metres. It was constructed in 14 months and was opened on 11 August 2010 in a football friendly match between the national teams of Slovenia and Australia, won by Slovenia 2–0. Portugal National Under-21 Football Team
The Portugal national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Portugal and is controlled by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). They are nicknamed ''"Esperanças."'' ''Esperança'' means hope, thus they are Portugal's hopes for the future. Following the realignment of UEFA's youth competitions in 1976, the Portuguese under-21 team was formed. Until 1994, the team had a rather poor record, failing to qualify for each of the first eight UEFA under-21 Championships. Since 1994, the team has improved its record greatly, qualifying for five of the next seven tournaments, including the 2006 finals. Having qualified for the 2006 tournament finals, UEFA announced that Portugal would host the finals in May and June. The Bežigrad District (), or simply Bežigrad (), is a district () of the City Municipality of Ljubljana.
