''Storytelling'' is a 2001 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Todd Solondz. It features original music by Belle & Sebastian, later compiled on the album '' Storytelling''. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The film consists of two stories that are unrelated and have different actors, titled "Fiction" and "Non-Fiction". College and high school serve as the backdrop for these two stories about dysfunction and personal turmoil. ;Fiction Vi (Selma Blair) is a graduate student dating an undergrad, Marcus, who has cerebral palsy, though he observes that she no longer seems passionate about their relationship. ''Storytelling'' is the fifth studio album by Scottish indie pop band Belle and Sebastian. It is the score to the Todd Solondz movie ''Storytelling''. Belle and Sebastian experienced many problems in communication with Solondz while scoring the film, and as such only about six minutes of their music was actually used in the movie. The album contains five tracks that are recorded dialogues. The instrumental track "Fuck This Shit" uses the prosody of the title phrase in a number of different keys but never the words themselves. ''Storytelling: Live at Theater Gütersloh'' is a 2017 live album by English guitarist Fred Frith. It was performed by Frith in a trio with Danish saxophonist Lotte Anker and Swiss percussionist Samuel Dühsler on 18 March 2017 at the Theater Gütersloh in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The recording was released on 18 August 2017 by Intuition in Germany as Volume 12 of its ''European Jazz Legends'' series. ''Storytelling'' comprises three pieces of improvised music, plus an interview with Frith conducted by Götz Bühler. ''The New York City Jazz Record'' listed the album as one of its "Honorable Mentions New Releases" in 2017. ''Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation'' is the debut studio album by Welsh rock band Funeral for a Friend. It was released on 13 October 2003 through Atlantic Records and was produced by Colin Richardson with co-production by the band themselves.
