Storeton Transmitter
Storeton transmitting station (also commonly known as the Storeton transmitter) is a television transmitter being a member of both the Winter Hill transmitting station, Winter Hill group of transmitters and of the Moel-y-Parc transmitting station, Moel-y-Parc group of transmitter (public service multiplexes only), and an FM radio transmitter, with transmitting antennas affixed to a mast located on Storeton Ridge, Bebington, Higher Bebington, Wirral Peninsula, Wirral, UK (national grid reference: SJ314841). The site is owned and operated by Arqiva. It was originally solely an analogue TV relay of the Winter Hill transmitting station, Winter Hill transmitter. The 45 metre-high (150 ft-high) mast is situated at an elevation of . Thus, the top of the mast has an overall height of above sea level. Construction of the mast was completed in 1980. Capital North West and North Wales is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global as part of the Capital network. It broadcasts to Cheshire, the Wirral Peninsula & North Wales. The station was previously part of the Heart radio network, which began broadcasting on 2 July 2010 as a result of a merger between Heart Cheshire and North East Wales (formerly Marcher Sound), Heart Wirral (formerly Wirral's Buzz) and Heart North Wales Coast (formerly Coast 96.3). It switched to Capital on 6 May 2014. Digital 3&4 is the operator of the PSB2 multiplex for digital terrestrial television in the United Kingdom. The company is equally owned by ITV Network Limited and Channel Four Television Corporation. It was established in 1996 to manage the multiplex that ITV and Channel 4 had been each gifted half of by the Independent Television Commission. Digital 3&4's PSB2 multiplex contains a number of channels and radio services. It must carry ITV (TV network), Channel 4 and, since 2009, Channel 5. Prior to 2010, 3% of the capacity was allocated to Teletext Ltd for interactive services. Wrexham-Rhos Transmitting Station
The Wrexham-Rhos transmitting station is a digital television relay of Moel-y-Parc, and forms part of the Wales television region. Despite its name, the station is situated in Moss Village and serves the city of Wrexham, the northern area of Wrexham County Borough and south-western Flintshire. It is a free-standing lattice tower structure serving around 85,000 homes which are unable to receive broadcasts from Moel-y-Parc due to Hope Mountain. This area is traditionally served by English transmitters at Winter Hill and The Wrekin, which have historically provided English-language channels Channel 4 and Channel 5, plus the digital terrestrial services ONdigital/ITV Digital (from 1998 to 2002) and Freeview from 2002 onwards.
