Sometimes, a record label is also a Music publisher, .... History Stone Records was founded in 2008 by opera singer Mark Stone to produce his own recordings. He began by making CDs of English song, but the label soon attracted other artists interested in releasing independent recordings. As such its repertoire has widened to include instrumental, choral and orchestral works. The artist list has grown steadily over the first few years and includes important collaborations with the Oxford Lieder Festival, contemporary composers such as Ronald Corp and Paul Carr, and chamber ensembles the Lendvai String Trio and the Phoenix Piano Trio. Haywards Heath ( ) is a town in West Sussex, England, south of London, north of Brighton, south of Gatwick Airport and northeast of the county town, Chichester. Nearby towns include Burgess Hill to the southwest, Horsham to the northwest, Crawley northwest and East Grinstead northeast. Mark Stone (born 12 June 1969) is a British baritone appearing in concerts, recitals, and opera. Biography Early life Born in London, England, he studied at Wilson's School, Wallington, London, before going up to King's College, Cambridge to read mathematics. After graduating in 1990, he worked as a Chartered Accountant and as an investment banker before studying singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London from 1995 to 1998. Performing He made his operatic debut in 1998, singing the role of Escamillo for Opera North, since when he has also appeared in the UK at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Glyndebourne and Welsh National Opera. Oxford Lieder Festival
The Oxford International Song Festival (formerly the Oxford Lieder Festival prior to 2023) is a UK-based classical music festival, specialising in the art-song repertoire. History The Festival was founded in 2002 by the pianist Sholto Kynoch, and in a short space of time grew to be the United Kingdom's largest art song festival. Oxford Lieder is now a registered charity and in addition to the annual festival which takes place in October, there are regular concerts and masterclasses throughout the year, and a growing programme of educational events. While most events are held in a core set of venues (including Holywell Music Room and the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building), there has been a recent show of concerts outside of central Oxford, England. Ronald Corp
Ronald Geoffrey Corp, (4 January 1951 – 7 May 2025) was a British composer, conductor and Anglican priest. He was founder and artistic director of the New London Orchestra (NLO) and the New London Children's Choir. Corp was musical director of the London Chorus, a position he took up in 1994, and was also musical director of the Highgate Choral Society. Corp was born and grew up in Wells, Somerset, later studying music at Oxford University. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2012 New Year Honours for services to music. Ordained ministry Corp attended the Southern Theological Education and Training Scheme to prepare for the priesthood. Paul Carr (composer)
Paul Carr (born 1961) is an English classical music composer. Born in Cornwall, he has been writing music since the age of 15. He studied voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and worked in opera stage management before concentrating on composing. He is the brother of conductor Gavin Carr. He has written a number of classical concertos, often in a lighter style including concertos for clarinet, oboe, flute, piano and viola. He has also scored several British films including '' Janice Beard 45 WPM'', '' Being Considered'', and ''Lady Audley's Secret''. TV work includes the children's series '' Girls in Love'' for Granada Television. A major new work for baritone, chorus and orchestra, 'Seven Last Words from the Cross', was commissioned bBath Minerva Choirin 2012.
