Stone Lodge School
Stone Lodge School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Stone, Kent, England. History The school was established in 2019 by the Endeavour MAT, a multi-academy trust formed by the Wilmington Boys and Girls grammar schools, to address the need for non-selective school places in the Dartford area. The senior management of the school met with Prime Minister Theresa May at 10 Downing Street ahead of the opening. The first years commencing learning in temporary premises on the site of the finished school. Construction of the permanent facilities commenced in 2021, The new school building was completed and occupied in April 2022. The school sixth form was opened in September 2022. Admissions Stone Lodge is a free School with a non-selective admissions policy. The BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) Level 3 diploma is a Further Education qualification and vocational qualification taken in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The qualification is organised and awarded by Pearson within the BTEC brand and it is equivalent to A-Levels. It is equivalent to the GCE A Levels, more specifically to three A2 awards (when studying for the BTEC Extended Diploma) and the AVCE. The Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) is a provider of secondary school leaving qualifications and further education qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. While the 'T' in BTEC stood for Technical, according to the DfE (2016) it now stands for Technology. BTECs originated in 1984 and were awarded by Edexcel from 1996. Dartford is the principal town in the Borough of Dartford, Kent, England. It is located south-east of Central London and is situated adjacent to the London Borough of Bexley to its west. Stone, also known as Stone-next-Dartford, is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Dartford in Kent, England, about 3 km east of Dartford and 27 kilometres from central London. It lies on the south bank of the River Thames. The A226 road, A226 (London Road) runs through Stone, linking Dartford with Greenhithe, Kent, Greenhithe and Gravesend; the A2 (Roman Watling Street) and M25 motorway pass just north of the parish.
