In geology, rock (or stone) is any naturally occurring solid mass or aggregate of minerals or mineraloid matter. It is categorized by the minerals included, its Chemical compound, chemical composition, and the way in which it is formed. Rocks form the Earth's outer solid layer, the Earth's crust, crust, and most of its interior, except for the liquid Earth's outer core, outer core and pockets of magma in the asthenosphere. The study of rocks involves multiple subdisciplines of geology, including petrology and mineralogy. It may be limited to rocks found on Earth, or it may include planetary geology that studies the rocks of other celestial objects. Stone In Oxney
Stone in Oxney is a village in the civil parish of Stone-cum-Ebony, in the Ashford district, in the county of Kent, England. It is south of Ashford, near Appledore. The village is south east of Tenterden, on the eastern side of the Isle of Oxney. The stone that gives the village its name is preserved in the village church, and is of Roman origin. Often thought to be an altar of Mithras, it in fact depicts Apis. The Saxon Shore Way, a long-distance walking route tracing the old Saxon shoreline, passes through the parish. In 1891 the parish of "Stone" had a population of 356. Stone Cole Smartt (born October 4, 1998) is an American professional football tight end for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Old Dominion Monarchs. Early life Smartt attended Del Oro High School in Loomis, California. During his high school career, he played the quarterback position, throwing for 3,021 yards from scrimmage with 29 touchdowns. He took his team in 2015-16 to a Division II-AA State title championship by beating Camarillo (16-13). In 2016-17 he led Del Oro to a Division 1-A state championship game against San Clemente. Stone Edward Johnson (April 26, 1940 — September 8, 1963) was an American sprinter and professional football player. He played as a kick returner and running back for the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League (AFL) during the 1963 preseason. On August 30, 1963, the rookie Johnson, a 200-meter track finalist in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome and former world record holder, suffered a fractured vertebra in his neck in a preseason game against the Houston Oilers in Wichita, Kansas during a kickoff return. He died 10 days later, on September 8, at the age of 23. Although he was only on the team's active roster during preseason, his jersey number 33 was retired. Along with Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder, he is one of the founding members of the band. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals.
