Stephen Roberts (footballer, Born 1980)
Stephen Wyn Roberts (born 24 February 1980) is a Welsh former professional Association football, footballer who most recently played for Walsall F.C., Walsall. He has also represented Wales at Wales national under-21 football team, under-21 level. Career Roberts began his career at hometown club Wrexham A.F.C., Wrexham, where he took part in the club's Football League Trophy win in 2005, before eventually moving to Doncaster Rovers F.C., Doncaster Rovers where he joined up with his brother Neil Roberts (Welsh footballer), Neil Roberts who eventually moved on to join Wrexham. On 1 July 2008, Roberts opted to turn down a new one-year contract at Doncaster Rovers, to drop down to League One to play for Walsall on a two-year contract. He became the "Saddlers" first signing of the 2008 pre-season. On 8 October 2009, Roberts announced his retirement from the game at the age of 29 due to a persistent back injury. Stephen Frederick Roberts (1958 – July 2022) was an historian of nineteenth-century Britain who wrote extensively about Chartism and Birmingham in the Victorian era. He was educated at Bishop Vesey's Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield and the University of Birmingham, from where he held B.A. and M.Litt. degrees. At the University of Birmingham Roberts was taught by leading historian of Chartism, Dorothy Thompson, a major influence on his work. This is reflected in the co-editing of a festschrift for Thompson entitled ''The Duty of Discontent'' (1995), a collaboration with her on a collection of contemporary illustrations entitled ''Images of Chartism'' (1998) and the editing of a posthumous collection of her writings entitled ''The Dignity of Chartism'' (2015). Stephen John Roberts (born 6 December 1958) is a British Anglican priest. From 2015 to 2020 he was deputy diocesan secretary in the Diocese of Southwark He was the Archdeacon of Wandsworth from 2005 to 2015. He was made an honorary canon of Southwark Cathedral in September 2015. Roberts was educated at Newcastle-under-Lyme High School and King's College London. Following training at Westcott House, Cambridge, he served as a curate at St Mary's Riverhead with St John's Dunton Green and then at St Martin-in-the-Fields. Stephen Cornelius Roberts (born 1952) is an American painter best known for his painting series of eight murals in the Memorial Chamber of the Nebraska State Capitol. Life and career Stephen Cornelius Roberts was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1952. Roberts’ original focus was as a serious musician and went to California to pursue a recording contract with a friend. In 1979 he switched his attention to art as his professional direction. Roberts graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in painting (under painter Peter Hill) in 1976. Roberts became a full-time artist in 1979. In 1981, with advice and encouragement from Ivan Karp, he went to New York City to find a gallery and was accepted into a small gallery at the time. Stephen Roberts (born March 1965) FREng is a British academic and scientist. He is a professor of machine learning at University of Oxford and leads the Machine Learning Research Group, a sub-group of the Department of Engineering Science. In 2016 he co-founded Mind Foundry, an artificial intelligence company, along with his colleague professor Michael Osborne. Education Roberts received a first-class degree in physics and a DPhil in machine learning. He also completed a PhD in Signal Processing at Imperial College London.
