Stephen Carlton Clark (August 29, 1882 – September 17, 1960) was an American art collector, businessman, newspaper publisher and philanthropist. He founded the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Biography Clark was the youngest of the four sons of Alfred Corning Clark and Elizabeth Scriven. His grandfather, Edward Cabot Clark, had been Isaac Singer's lawyer and partner in the Singer Corporation, Singer Sewing Machine Company. Alfred Corning Clark inherited a 37.5% stake in the company, and invested the profits in New York City real estate. Alfred died in April 1896, leaving a $30,000,000 family trust to his widow and sons. Clark was educated at Phillips Academy (Andover), Yale University (Bachelor of Arts, B.A. 1903) and Columbia Law School (1907). Stephen J. Clark (born November 7, 1960) is a Canadian politician who has represented Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 2010. A member of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party, Clark was the minister of municipal affairs and housing from 2018 until 2023, when he resigned from provincial cabinet amid the Greenbelt scandal. Clark was mayor of Brockville from 1982 to 1991. Today, Clark is the Commissioner of the Board of Internal Economy, Government House Leader, and Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier. Steven Clark is a former Australian professional referee in the National Rugby League competition. Background Clark was born in New South Wales, Australia. NRL career Clark made his first grade debut in the match between Parramatta Eels and the Newcastle Knights, at Parramatta Stadium on 31 May 1992. In 2007 Clark reached the 300 first grade game barrier becoming only the third referee to do so. At the time of his retirement only Bill Harrigan with 393 games and Col Pearce with 343 games had refereed more matches than him. Steven Clarke (born April 19, 1991) is an American former professional football defensive back. He attended the Vanderbilt University where he played college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores. In 2023, Clarke pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor, for which he was sentenced to 21 months in jail. Early life Clarke played high school football for Boyd H. College and amateur career Lightly recruited out of high-school, Clark was a crosswalker at his local school. Clark walked-on for the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies. After red-shirting his first season, Clark made 2 appearances in the 2005 season. During his 2nd season at Oakland, Clark was evicted from his apartment. Stephen Clarke (born 29 August 1963) is a Scottish professional football manager and former player who is the manager of the Scotland national team. Clarke played for St Mirren, Chelsea and the Scotland national team, winning three major trophies with Chelsea towards the end of his career. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and worked at Newcastle United, Chelsea, West Ham United and Liverpool. Clarke has since managed West Bromwich Albion and Reading. Steven Clark (5 May 1961 – 12 November 2005) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon, Melbourne and St Kilda in the Australian Football League (AFL), previously Victorian Football League (VFL). Clark was a rover who had originally trialed with Fitzroy but was recruited to Essendon by Kevin Sheedy midway through the 1985 VFL season, despite being aged 24. He participated in four games that year, including the last two of the home and away season but missed out on the finals and subsequent premiership. A strong season in 1986 saw Clark picked to play for the Victorian interstate team. He kicked 33 goals for the year, the third most at Essendon. He played college football for the Utah Utes.
