Stephanie Clayton
Stephanie Clayton (July 9, 1977) is a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives representing the 19th district (Overland Park in Johnson County). She has served since 2013. She was elected as a Republican, but after winning reelection on November 9, 2018, with 58.9% of the vote, she announced she was changing her party affiliation on December 19, 2018. On November 15, 2019, she announced her candidacy for the 7th district seat in the Kansas Senate. On January 21, 2020, she announced that she was ending her campaign for the Kansas Senate and would seek reelection to a fifth term in the Kansas House of Representatives. On March 10, 2020, she was appointed as ranking minority member of the House Education Committee. Representative Clayton assumed the posts of minority whip and ranking minority member of the Commerce, Labor and Economic Development Committee in January 2021. Jim Denning (born August 13, 1956), is a former Republican member of the Kansas Senate, representing the 8th district from 2013 to 2021. Early life On August 13, 1956, Denning was born in Great Bend, Kansas. Denning's father was Paul Denning, an oil field worker. Denning's mother was Albertine Denning. Denning was the sixth of nine siblings. Education In 1980, Denning earned a B.A. degree in Finance from Fort Hays State University. James Ward (born December 5, 1957) is a Democratic former member of the Kansas House of Representatives, who represented the 86th district from 2013 to 2021. He was first elected to seat 88 in 2003 and served as the House Minority Leader from 2017 to 2019, succeeded by Representative Tom Sawyer as of January 14, 2019. Ward ran for the 28th district of the Kansas Senate against incumbent Mike Petersen but was defeated. Kansas () is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka, and its largest city is Wichita. Leonard A. Mastroni (May 28, 1949 – September 30, 2020) was an American politician. He served as a Republican member for the 117th district in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2020. Stan S. Frownfelter (born May 12, 1951) is an American businessman and former Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 37th district in Wyandotte County. He was first elected in 2006 and took office on January 3, 2007. He served as the House Assistant Minority Leader from 2017 to 2019. Until 2020, he had never faced primary opposition.
