State Road D.010 (Turkey)
D.010, aka Black Sea Coastal Road, is a major west-east state road in northern Turkey that serves the Black Sea coast. The route starts in the west at the intersection D.014, southeast of Karasu, Sakarya Province, and terminates at the intersection D.060, northeast of Kars in eastern Anatolia. However, it is discontinued between Zonguldak and southwest of Çaycuma. The gap of distance is on the highway D.750. Connecting most of the coastal towns and cities at middle and eastern Black Sea, D.010 runs through Ereğli, Zonguldak, Bartın, Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon and Rize. It leaves the coast at Hopa, Artvin Province and turns southeast. D.010 passes through Ardahan and connects at Akçakale, Kars Province to D.060, which leads in the east to the border checkpoint Turkey- Armenia at Akyaka, Kars. Karasu, Sakarya
Karasu is a town in Sakarya Province, northwestern Turkey, on the Black Sea coast. It has an overwinter population of around 30,746, which increases in the summer due to tourism. Much of its commerce centers on hazelnut farming and tourism. The Acarlar Floodplain Forest is located partly in Karasu. Rize
Rize (Greek: ρίζα, Laz: რიზინი, Georgian: რიზე, , Ottoman Turkish: ريزه) is the capital city of Rize Province in the eastern part of the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Rize is a typically Turkish provincial capital with little in the way of nightlife or entertainment. However the border with Georgia has been open since the early 1990s, the Black Sea coast road has been widened and the town is much wealthier than it used to be. Current Turkish President Recep Tayyıp Erdoğan's family has its roots in Rize and the local university is named after him. Rize is linked by road with Trabzon (41 miles 6 kmwest), Hopa (55 miles 8 kmeast on the Georgian border, and Erzurum (south). Rize–Artvin Airport started operating in 2022.
