The State Opening of Parliament is a ceremonial event which formally marks the beginning of each Legislative session, session of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. At its core is His or Her Majesty's "Speech from the throne, gracious speech from the throne" (also known as the King's or Queen's Speech), which is read by the Monarchy of the United Kingdom, monarch but written by HM Government. In the speech the monarch gives notice of forthcoming state visits, before setting out the government's legislative programme for the new parliamentary session. Michael Glawogger
Michael Glawogger (3 December 1959 – 23 April 2014) was an Austrian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. From 1981 to 1982, Glawogger studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, and from 1983 to 1989 at the Filmacademy Vienna, Vienna Film Academy. Like fellow Austrian director Ulrich Seidl, with whom he collaborated several times, he was mainly known for his documentary films, such as ''Megacities'' (1998), ''Workingman's Death'' (2005) and ''Whores' Glory'' (2011). In 2008 he was a member of the jury at the 30th Moscow International Film Festival.
