The State Bank of Pakistan Sports Complex is a sports complex located in North Nazimabad, Karachi, Pakistan. History It was established in 2009. The first recorded match on the ground was in the 2011/12 season. The ground hosted two first-class matches in the 2016/17 cricket season. It was selected as a venue to host matches in the knockout stage of the 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. In September 2019, the Pakistan Cricket Board named it as one of the venues to host matches in the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. In December 2023, the PCB named it as one of the venues to host matches in the 2023–24 President's Trophy. North Nazimabad
North Nazimabad () is a suburb of Karachi, Pakistan. North Nazimabad was developed in the late 1950s as a residential area for the employees of the federal government of Pakistan, and was named after Khawaja Nazimuddin who was the second Governor-General of Pakistan and later the second Prime Minister of Pakistan. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but the term was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the International Cricket Council, Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 59th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and ran between 1 October and 15 December 2016. The format of the competition remained the same as the previous season, with two round-robin group stages and a final. The regions and departments were divided evenly between the two groups for the preliminary group stage, with the four top teams in each advancing to a "Super Eight" group stage; the top team in each of the Super Eight groups contested the final. 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 14 September to 31 December 2019. Habib Bank Limited were the defending champions. However, after the new domestic structure was announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), six newly formed regional teams played in the tournament. During the opening round of fixtures, a concussion substitute was used for the first time in a domestic cricket match in Pakistan. In the match between Southern Punjab and Central Punjab, Mohammad Saad replaced Usman Salahuddin in Central Punjab's team on the second day of the match. On 31 October 2019, Ahmed Shehzad was fined 50% of his match fee following a drawn match between his side, Central Punjab, and Sindh after his team was found guilty of ball-tampering. 2023–24 President's Trophy
The 2023–24 President's Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition played in Pakistan. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played from 16 December 2023 to 31 January 2024, however, the final was later rescheduled to begin on 6 February 2024. The final was rescheduled a second time to 9 February and moved from Karachi to Rawalpindi. It was played by seven departmental teams, across three venues in Karachi and one venue in Rawalpindi. In December 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. It marked the return of departmental cricket in Pakistan since the 2018–19 season. Although eight teams were originally scheduled to participate, Sui Southern Gas Company pulled out of the tournament.
