''Starting Out'' is an Australian television soap opera made for the Nine Network by the Reg Grundy Organisation in 1983. Background The five-night-a-week series was created by Reg Watson as the network's replacement for the long-running serial '' The Young Doctors''. It was produced by Sue Masters who had also been the producer of ''The Young Doctors''. It was set at a medical college with an emphasis on young people getting their first experience of living away from home and leading independent lives. ''Starting Out'' debuted on 5 April 1983 in Melbourne and 18 April 1983 in Sydney. It aired in an early evening slot of 6pm week night’s before the network's news service.Mercado, Andrew. Starting Out (British TV Series)
''Starting Out'' is the title of seven series of programmes made for UK schools by ATV and Central from 1973 to 1992. The writers included Catherine Storr, Dave Simpson, Anthony Horowitz and Grazyna Monvid. Comprising 56 episodes in total, the series were repeated until 1994. The episodes were designed for older pupils who were about to leave school and who would soon be ''starting out'' on life as adults. A new series was made roughly every three years and was totally unrelated to that which came before, so that it was self-contained and relevant to the needs of each new generation of pupils. Several of the series were first broadcast late at night for preview by an adult audience, sometimes months before they were available to pupils. Maurice Gran
Maurice Bernard Gran (born 26 October 1949 in London, England) is an English writer and one half of scriptwriting duo Marks and Gran. He co-wrote the sitcoms '' The New Statesman'', '' Birds of a Feather'' and '' Goodnight Sweetheart'' with Laurence Marks. Their theatre works include '' Dreamboats and Petticoats'', ''Save the Last Dance for Me'' and ''Dreamboats and Miniskirts''. Biography Born to a Jewish family, Gran lived in Finsbury Park Road as a child and his father was the manager of a fabric shop in Soho. He attended William Ellis School, a grammar school for boys in Highgate. He then rose to be the manager of the Job Centre in Tottenham, whilst writing scripts with Laurence Marks which they submitted to the BBC. The duo had begun writing together after they met at a discussion group for writers that was held within the British Drama League.

Laurence Marks (British Writer)
Laurence Marks (born 8 December 1948) is a British screenwriter and one half of writing duo Marks and Gran (with Maurice Gran). Biography Born to a Jewish family, Marks attended Holloway, London, Holloway Comprehensive School (formerly Holloway County Grammar School until 1955). Marks became a reporter for a local weekly paper, the ''Tottenham Weekly Herald''. In 1975, he was working as a freelance journalist when he was asked to report from the scene of the Moorgate tube crash. He only discovered later that his father, Bernard Marks, was one of 43 victims of the accident. Soon after, Marks joined the ''Sunday Times'' Insight (Sunday Times), Insight investigative journalism team, and reported in depth on the investigation into the crash. In 2006, Marks made a documentary for Channel 4, ''Me, My Dad and Moorgate'', in which he rejected the verdict of accidental death by the coroner's jury, and advocated his theory that the driver of the train had committed suicide by crashi ...

All For One (The Screaming Jets Album)
''All for One'' is the debut album by Australian hard rock band The Screaming Jets which was released in April 1991. It peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Charts. The album was re-recorded in 2021 and released in October 2021 as ''All for One (30 Year Anniversary Edition)'', which debuted at number 4 on the ARIA Charts. Background The Screaming Jets are a hard rock group that formed in January 1989 in Newcastle with singer Dave Gleeson, drummer Brad Heaney, guitarist Richard Lara, guitarist Grant Walmsley and bass guitarist Paul Woseen. Their first performance was at a Newcastle pub in March. The band won the inaugural National Band Competition run by youth radio broadcaster Triple J in November.
